I like colored leather. I advised someone to replace their black (bycast) leather sofa with a top-grain leather sofa in a very dark purple color, and it's great. It looks almost black but it's not as "flat" in the room as black would be. I had a large dark green leather ottoman (a cross between your two examples) and again, it added something I felt brown would not. I currently have a pair of Paul McCobb stools upholstered in Edelman Leather Metallic Dream Cow in pale blue. I agree with your idea.

I don't, but when we get a new sofa I would like blue leather. Go for it, especially if you already have red in another room and know you like it :-) Any of the colors you're suggesting sound very livable to me.

I have navy blue leather couch and navy chairs.....also had a dark brown leather chair in the same room. Used red pillows and red accents with pale yellow walls and love it. My son has a burgundy leather sofa and chair...looks good. I am not sure about the green....have you thought of cream?

I don't, but I really want one! I'm considering a moss green leather sofa since I'm not a big fan of brown. But caramel is my safe choice.

I have an Ikea leather sofa in that same shade of red, just like the one you pictured. It isn't too dark at all. Love it love it. Goes beautifully with the oriental rug and the danish-style wall units.

The butter colored leather is not a great idea if you have dogs. It just doesn't stay as nice as you would want, long term. I have a chair in that color and it has to be pampered more than my black or oxblood leather. I think you should aim more toward an oxblood - a dark red/brown instead of a lighter color. I adore my oxblood colored full aniline leather sofa. It stands up to dogs, kids and constant use.

Sorry no pics. I think I'd really like a colored leather sofa. I love green ones like you posted and blue. Sounds like the green would work well in your room and from what I remember of your home.

We have navy blue and love it! This pic is from the day it arrived a year ago, I'm a few projects further along in this room now.

A leather furniture maker near us had a pale yellow sofa, and a fire engine red one. I wanted them BOTH.

Not a great picture and it is at the ski house so I can't get a better one, but camel was a good option for us.

I don't now, but I have one on order after 12-13 years of a congac/baseball glove colored sectional. The new one is a dark grey blue with a green undertone -- yes, kind of deep sea or mysterious night sky blue. Sorry, no pictures to share yet but I hope you can find a great color. It isn't easy -- seems like they are all brown or black with a few cream or grey sprinkled in.

Did you search Houzz living room photos for grean leather sofas? Some I think you would like there. i'd post a couple of links, but the website isn't cooperating right now.

Sueb, I have a leather sofa in the playroom in a similar green to the 2 photos you posted, but just a touch brighter. It looks great in the room and much more interesting than plain old brown. I've gotten positive comments from visitors. I had seen an inspiration photo in a decor magazine and the green looked great. It did take me a while to find the perfect green ... not too lime, not too hunter, not too neon, not too olive!!!

We had an oxblood leather sofa that we really loved, but the sun faded it to an ugly pinkish color.

I have an H&M Kent Chesterfield in sort of an Oxblood color. It's a 'protected' leather, and my dogs have not put one scratch on it. This is an old picture, but the best one I have of it, and believe me, it looks the same today. It was taken moments after the coffee table arrived, so that's why it's so bare.

Greens are tricky. I would like to throw my hunter green leather chair to the curb but DH loves it and it was very expensive. Unlike me, you seem to be constantly tweaking your decor. So if you choose green you probably won't be stuck with a sofa that looks like granny decorating in 15 years.

LOL constantly tweaking my decor. Yup. That's me. Usually it's not the big stuff like sofas, but DH has complained about the sofa we have from Day One, because he misses the leather sofa we used to have (which was too big for the room, so it was relegated to the basement). When I threw this new idea out, he was so happy. He said get red, get pink, purple...I don't care, just get me a leather sofa.

Because there is almost no natural light in this room, fading shouldn't be an issue. Our red leather sofa is in a very sunny room, right next to the living room, and it has faded but isn't pink yet!

I am hoping to convince DH to go to the furniture store with me tomorrow. Problem is, he hates shopping so he always wants me to just go alone (with his wish list in mind) ... but that's what we did last time and 5 years later he's whining about what I bought.

ETA: this is the full size version of the loveseat we have in the adjacent room. It has held up very well for 10+ years. I might just go with this, if they have a color I like. (They don't show all the color options on the web site.)

Ooh. Here it is in "Winter Pine." I have done a bunch of research online and tried to like the styles at H&M but I don't see anything that works in my room better than this one (from Crate & Barrel). For the relatively small size, the actual seat area is bigger than many, and it isn't too deep -- a real concern in my room because it is narrow.

Sue any update with your sofa? I know you had a newer thread, but this is the one I came across.

Well, the sale starts on Aug 14 so I'm waiting until then to order...

I like the green, but actually the olive-y green of the first two you posted. The yellow might veer toward "school bus".

I have some navy leather, some creamy color, I had a leather sectional in a very deep rich ox blood color, I love leather furniture and I do like color. I currently have bomber leather brown furniture in the TV room along with deep blue leather recliners, I have a lot of brown and blue, one of my favorite combinations.

I really like that Winter pine sofa.
