Comments (19)Thanks, Jasdip. She did. She passed on in 2007. She was 10 years old when I got Rocket as a kitten. He tormented her every day of the last two years of her life. I often regretted having him, but did what I could to keep her life from being too miserable. Comments (16)I was thrilled a few years ago to check a major item off my bucket list, that of visiting the Library of Congress in Washington. The LC has a huge influence on libraries with its classification system, subject headings, enormous database and likely much more. Comments (13)To correlate with Jemdandy's thread on the Declaration of Independence and freedom, on our trip to Washington DH and I made a point of visiting the Lincoln Memorial. Along with all the other historical details, I was interested to read on Wikipedia that a "popular legend is that Lincoln is shown using sign language to represent his initials, with his left hand shaped to form an "A" and his right hand to form an "L", the president's initials." This is plausible since the sculptor may have wished to pay tribute to "Lincoln for having signed the federal legislation giving Gallaudet University, a university for the deaf, the authority to grant college degrees."...See More- 11 years ago
