It was a very wet weekend, and the weeds are totally out of control. So just ignore them and look at the flowers.tle

Allegheny Skyline with Cool Hand Luke and self seeded Gloriosa daisies in the background. Unfortunately the storms knocked several of the daisies down to the ground.

Tahlequah Flame, a late started blooming a couple of days ago.

The Thing that Ate the Seedling bed was still going strong.

Allegheny skyline and Cool Hand Luke with the daisies is my favorite today, they compliment each other so nicely ! The mosquitos are making weeding difficult here, little buggars!

maybe the thing that ate the seedling bed, needs a bed all by itself,so it can just grow all it wants.:)

That is a great clump shot of Whimsical! I looked online for info about it and none of the other photos of Whimsical look nearly as pretty as yours. Hi Char, Yes, that's an azalea in the background! There are various shades of blooms - lighter pink, fuschia and white. I planted about 5 really small azaleas a couple of years ago between the larger ones that I got for like 35 cents each at Home Depot, and they have blooms for the first time this year :-) Here's a pic from far off showing the whole bed:

Isn't Carman Renee pretty, definitely my favorite, & Jungle Butterfly really sets it off nicely. You must have missed the rain this morning, we got an inch of it this morning. I have the nicest looking weeds anyone could hope to have this year, especially in my iris bed where it is mostly mud if I went out to weed. Seems like every time I go out to weed, it starts thundering.

Willow Dean Smith is going to be a star in our garden. This is the third year and doing so great. It also has three new scapes, so the flower show should last for quite some time. The longer we have FFSnow, the more we love it. I did a crazy thing, crossed it with Star Child, and yes---There is a pod, hope the pod develops seeds and some day there will be another beautiful daylily. Twirling Parasol really does have a unique look to me, and this year some of the scapes are above the listed 22" height, which makes me happy.

Vivvian - That's a good idea! But that vigorous seedling is doing so well, I don't want to disturb it. I plan to move those it's shading too much to other beds where they can get the sun they need.

Sherry - I know what you mean about the mosquitoes. There was a horde of them following me tonight, even though I was wearing repellant.

Willow Dean Smith always gives good clump shots. Allegheny Skyline has finally multiplied enough to make it a clump. I lost Tahlequah Flame over the winter, and this is a replacement plant.

I think Westbourne Little Lamb is stunning...we're going to have to get that one since the red/ near-white contrast is one of Nancy's favorites. We have Tahlequah Flame, but it's just starting up. I'm anxious to see it bloom since I love the oranges with watermarks. Beautiful pictures! Bob

Beautiful shot of Westborne Little Lamb. I don't have any Westborne daylilies, so in general I don't know how they perform. This one sure is pretty........I like the pink on Sugar Magnolia and of course the hot red on Apache War Dance.........Maryl

Love that Allegheny Skyline. Beautiful photos. You have good luck with the Westbournes. Storms are suppose to roll in here again later today.

Bob - Westbourne Little Lamb's petals are really a light yellow. The true color never shows up in my photos. Also, it was incorrectly registered as a tet. It will only set see with dips.

Maryl - I like the the two Westbournes I grow. Little Lamb has never been as tall as registered and has never rebloomed for me. W. Good Old Days is by far the better plant: vigorous, tall, well branched, and reblooms.

Julia - Hope your storms don't do any damage. This is supposed to be our driest day all week - only a 20 percent chance of rain.

Debra - thanks for the invaluable info on WL Lamb. Nancy wanted it for crossing with other tets, which would have been a waste of time, for sure! Thanks for sharing your expertise! Bob

Gorgeous pic of W. Little Lamb!! Oh my that seedling!! And I have scapes on WDS, can't wait :)

Oh weeds... sigh... very bad this year, seems like every year I get some new kinds too :)

Already Apache War Dance time! Sugar Magnolia has a very alluring and graceful bloom.

Mantis - Yes, I'm to the late part of my season. Sugar Magnolia's blooms do have a graceful form. Most UFs that large can get a bit unwieldy.
