No 36 inch induction ranges?

We would like a 36 inch range for our kitchen renovation and I was between induction and gas. Does anyone know why no one makes a 36 inch induction range? Is it because it would use more power than a 50amp breaker can provide? (yes I realize I can do an oven below a cooktop with similar results but I am just curious).

In fact, there are some 36" and larger induction ranges --- you can custom
order from the likes of French makers such as Lacanche. Obviously, $$$$$$.

Beyond that, the problem is limited demand. Diva de Provence made 36" induction ranges for what, 5 years? They went bust.

Consider how little demand there is for any electric range that is 36" or larger. I mean, Frigidaire has discontinued the 40" models which it used to make (and which also were sold as Kenmores). Brown Stove Works still makes a four-coil-burner 36" electric ranges which, I believe, are sold under the Summit brandname. Verona has (or had) a 36" five-burner radiant electric range ($$$). Heartland has an antique-look 48" radiant burner stove ($$$$ for the looking like an antique wood-burning cookstove). That's it.

Seems to me that power supply requirements really do not affect this market segment
very much. Those would be pretty much the same as you would need
for for setting up a 36" induction cooktop over top of a 30" electric
oven. Folks who want larger induction cooktop surfaces go that route which, I suspect, pretty much eliminates the market for larger induction ranges. Also, there really isn't much demand for residential 36" electric ovens, either.

Yes, it's the power needs thing, primarily, and only the low demand a distant secondary factor. There's enough demand out there for a decent niche production run. A 36'' induction over a 30'' oven needs a power circuit for each appliance, not a shared single circuit. Until a company figures out how to safely utilize a similar double breaker supply for a single unit (not that hard to do) you're gonna have to do the separate components thing too.

We replaced a Fisher Paykel gas cooktop with a 36" Wolf induction. It sits over a Kitchenaid wall oven. It was the only brand that would fit because it has the shallowest profile. That being said, we tend to use the second wall oven much more because it is easier to access. The 36" over the 30" oven looks fine however.

I would leave the fridge where it is and put the DW to the right of the sink. BTW, your graph is off so I'm not sure if this will work; I marked 3' (6 squares) x 3' horizontally, then rotated it 90° to vertical--see the comparison on the right side of the plan: All aisles, and the prep space between the sink and range, will be the NKBA recommended minimum. I used 36" fridge and 30" range; without extending the kitchen, I don't know where to fit a wall oven and keep minimum prep space between the sink and cooktop. You can prep on the island but there isn't space for a seat, plus decent-sized sink, plus prep space. Sink is off-center to window, but faucet is centered on window to help disguise the asymmetry. That's a rhetorical question, right? Why is anything worth the prices they are charging these days? Supply and demand play a big part. You are also paying for the name brand, no different than with lots of other products out there. Why is a Mercedes worth more than a Honda? As far as the knobs, I don't miss them like I thought I would and really like not having to clean around & under them! @Julie K, I would give up every other appliance in my kitchen before I gave up the Miele CSO XL! You can find lots of old posts with very positive comments about the Miele CSO.

You could try a combination of oven and separate induction cooktop. In the cooktop category there are numerous 36-inch induction range models. The Electrolux/Kenmore/Frigidaire lines have them; the Bosch/Thermador lines have them; Wolf has them, etc. Search here on this subject, e.g., the topic:
