Spots, yellow leaves and dropping leaves on Brugmansia
Comments (17)Monkeyfoot- Thanks for uploading a photo. Despite the yellowing leaves, it look great! Like kayjones says, the leaves will grow back!:) Dan- wow- such a long post!:) Yes, I finally opened my web store, because I am feeling a little better. I am still in pain but the meds help me get around a bit more. I'm also on vacation so I thought processing orders would be a lot less stressful during this time. :) Mango Crush is such a vigorous fast grower and bloomer. Mine hasn't started blooming yet, but it won't be long! Glad yours is doing well. I love Morelia! Which angels belong to the Aurea group? I always have a hard time remembering. What qualifies an angel to belong to that group? I would be so honored to trade for some of your new babies to trial for you. I haven't done any hybridizing yet, nothing is really blooming for me. But they are budding up! Yes you gave me Rudy- and I just planted it last week in my front garden. I just LOVE Peaches & Creams' fragrance- you say it's better than that? Wow, I can't wait for it to bloom! Do you know who the pollen donor is? Very interesting! Thanks again for the tip for using molasses, I forgot about it. I will try it! My brugs are holding up well so far. The hottest it's been was 106*. I planted most in ground last year. Those in ground have a deep layer of composted horse manure over them, and I haven't had to hand water them yet! Thank God, I couldn't water them in my condition anyway! We are behind in our rain for the month so far. Get your list together soon, I'm selling the best angels fast! I have only a few special angels that are not listed on my site. Have to get some Murphy's to combat a few mites that I have. Looking forward to your email and photos when you can!...See MorePepper plant leaves turning yellow, some leaves completely gone!
Comments (3)Which leaves are turning yellow, the young leaves or the older leaves? How long ago were the plants transplanted? The leaves that are yellow, is the yellowing between the veins or in the veins and not in between or all over? Since you did not add fertilizer to the second plot (symptomatic plot) then you probably have a N deficiency, just fertilize and you should be fine. I would also get some gympsum or calcitic lime and add that as well. The gypsum is very soluble in water and can supply Ca to the plant fast whereas the calcitic lime is relatively insoluble and will be slowly available to the plant but will offset any of the acidity that the compost has added. If you do a pH test on your own you are only going to get half of the story, so be weary of the results. The pH of the soil is affected by many things, the plant, the soil type and the organic matter. The plant and the organic matter can be measured the simple way but the soil part you need to do something different (namely an exchange) in order to get the value. The soil clay acts in the same way as your water softener, in that it has the capacity to hold a variety of positively charged ions (Ca, Mg, K, H, Na, NH4)and will exchange those with the soil solution thus making them available to the plant. themedicinalpepper.com Here is a link that might be useful: The Medicinal Pepper...See Moreseedling lower leaves turning yellow
Comments (10)Yellowing of the bottom leaves - be they cotyledons or true leaves - is almost always a sign of excess watering. Too wet soil causes root rot. Given your container mix - "store bought top soil with homemade compost (leaves and grass)" - too much water/too wet soil would seem very likely. Potting soil also compacts making good drainage problematic. This the standard recommendation to use a soil-less potting mix instead. Have you fed them anything else? Compost unless it was well finished humus won't provide much in the way of nutrients. Dave...See MorePlants dropped all leaves some green some yellow and tips look burnt s
Comments (4)I have loads of them inside my tent mostly bugs and flies, it doesnt look good. I would definitely buy some kind of powder for that. And try not to over fertilise as it won t do much good to your plant. My main problem was and still is bad soil, so you could provide us with some kind of picture of your soil, and as said before more pictures where we can see actul plant....See MoreN Larson (Z7 SE Penna)
