seedling lower leaves turning yellow

I have about 20 tomato seedlings, mostly heirloom but also a few hybrids like Juliet and Sungold, all under lights. I have noticed that opalka, brandywine and juliet all have yellowing lower leaves. The top leaves appear to be green and healthy but the lower ones are turning yellow and soft before they fall off. Is this a nitrogen deficiency? I planted them in store bought top soil with homemade compost (leaves and grass).
