Gus has left the building
Comments (8)I did not fill them in completely. My holes were at least a foot deep to start with, I added the 2 composts and that was maybe 3 or 4 inches? then I added only 2 or 3 at most inches of soil on top (didn't take those pics ;) That is what I read to do, and as it grows, you continue to fill in around them.. I do have a question though, the plants at the very end of the row didnt have as deep a trench to start with (I didn't think I was going to need that space but with the extra crowns, I had to make room for them!!! so IF I need to keep adding soil around them as the instructions say, will they ever be ok in more of a mound? when i finished filling the compost and then the 2 or 3 inches of soil they were closer back to ground level then the others. Just curious...See MorePollyanna has left the building!
Comments (18)Well, as disappointed as I am, it's not too big of a deal. The way I look at it, I WS about 225 containers every year. But then I have to plant them out, and that's the part that gets me, lol. So now I'll have a few less containers to plant - not that three or four containers will matter, and I'm sure I'll find three or four new things to sow, lol, but hey, that's how it goes. I did so want that KMOTGG, though. I saw it in a bouquet once with variegated euphorbia - just those two and nothing else, and it was stunning. Oh well, I will have to live vicariously through PV. I'm sure hers will germinate next year, if for no other reason than we have both been trying the same amount of years, and if I stop, hers will germinate and I will be ticked off that I didn't try just one more year. LOL, I may be doing you a favor, PV! Yours are sure to germinate if I don't sow again... Drippy, good luck with the beach plum. I'd hate for you to have tried so long and succeeded, and then not have the thing live! Morz8, my plan was to keep the alstromeria in a pot. I sell cut flowers at the farmer's market, so since many of my flowers get cut reseeding is kept to a minimum, and it'd be in a pot just in case of root spread also. But, it's a moot point if the darn stuff won't even germinate, lol. Jaynine, thank you for your generous offer, but I don't want you to go through any trouble. Besides, I'm not familiar with the variegated KMOTGG (although I'm sure my next stop is Google, lol) and I think I'd prefer the plain kind. But thanks! Karendee, if you don't keep good records, you don't know what didn't work so it's not as discouraging, lol. Well, good luck to all of us! There's always next year to overcome our nemesis! :) Dee...See MoreThe Ants Have Left The Building.....

Comments (86)kculbers 3 months ago Pinebaron: how did you find out about those tourmaline rocks?? kculbers: My apologies for not responding sooner, just saw your message. Some online research plus knowledge gleaned from a book of fortune or something, helped a lot since I was previously only aware of stones negatively impacting various things. Now I keep a very large tourmaline rock on my office desk below my monitor and another really large one in our living room; that definitely did the trick for us. Now it's almost exactly three years since we moved to our 'masterpiece' although it only became party capable a year later (we love to entertain), i.e. by Thanksgiving 2019. At the time the pandemic struck, my DW was promoted at her work and my own work tripled due to an insane demand for what I do, helping generate an enormous surplus, an ingredient that helped grease the wheels of life. Buzz Solo in northeast MI @Pinebaron We finally sold our house in September 2020. we lost money on it but it's out of our hair (and I left my old neighbors with a good new neighbor!) And DH and I are still married, still frustrated in different ways (the home building board has seen a lot of my "can't find an HVAC guy" posts, but we're getting there. What worries more I think is what we're going to do with ourselves when it's done and we move in! we're going to have to find another project so we don't sit and stare at each other all day. Buzz Solo: A house, no matter how complete, is always going to need some love and there should always be a project or two in-flight to keep you both interested and engaged. If all is really done and when travel becomes easier, take a vacation or two, even a one day sightseeing or window shopping excursion can do wonders....See MoreNHBabs z4b-5a NH
