At this point, the house exterior needs to be painted and I will likely pick a new color scheme. I'm not sure about that yet. Sounds like I can't go wrong at this point with repainting the patio furniture black/satin black or another dark color. Yes, there will be cushions. FYI, when you enter the family room you look directly onto the patio (through 8' sliding doors), so I am trying to take that into consideration, too. I will go check out the Rust-oleum colors. I have 4 Adirondack chairs and painted 2 and stained 2 with an opaque stain. The painted chairs which had been sanded primed and painted began to peel within the first month. The stained chairs have been outside for a more than a year and are still in great shape. I used Olympic Stain from Lowes. Stains can be supplied in any color you like. Based on the appearance of your deck, I would try a 'driftwood' stain on your furniture. It would look like this.

I'm definitely still open, but I can't see what you posted. The link just brings me to this thread. I think if I liked the lighter color seats in the black set, I would get that, but they aren't neutral enough for me.

Perhaps a shade sail to extend the patio? Then you might be able to get a large potted plant to survive. Maybe a large planter under the laundry room (?) windows. Use more of the cedar as an accent/trellis. (How did you get the artichokes to be so perfect?) But that's why the house side looks plain. Everything else looks too good.
