Houzz changes format .....
Comments (26)@Chi83. Yes, I set the system up so it does it automatically. It's a good practice for me to sign in each time. It helps me to remember the different user names & passwords that I set up for different sites. @Jasdip. The banner appears as you scroll down the page. If you're either at the top or bottom of the page, the banner won't be there. If the banner is smaller/less, it wouldn't have bothered me. But this thing takes half of the page. The message that I get from it is that either I'm allowed to read by logged in or not at all. If this forum was a paid membership, I can understand this restriction. However, it's not! Is Houzz trying to turn away readers? What's their point?...See MoreJune FOTESS Swap - Summer School!
Comments (259)Hi Everyone, I'm finally home! And can I just say that coming thro Toledo on Interstate 75 was the same miserable experience it has always been. Never changes. These people need to work on their detour skills. Had a great visit with the granddaughters. My daughter and her husband just bought their first house, so there was a lot of packing, sorting, running back and forth going on! It's a nice little house in a great neighborhood, same school district and Tabitha is so excited - she gets to ride the school bus! Where they live now is only a block away from her school, so she had to walk. And I got to meet my grandcat, Aurora. Very pretty cat, American Tabby mix, quite nice and it only took her a couple of days to get used to me. Okay, let's take care of some swap stuff! First of all, a huge Thank You to Jeanne for covering for me. And at the last minute too. This visit was supposed to happen next weekend. Jeanne, I owe ya one! Thank you! Robin, Beth and Heidi, thanks for sharing the pics, your flower beds are just beautiful! Great Haiku, Robin! Congrats to Katie and Emily for guessing #s 2 and 5! Erica, how great it would be to walk out to my back yard and pick lemons! Margo, we got rain 3 nites in Kettering. The girls drew a picture of me with their chalk, on the sidewalk, and were really bummed that the rain washed it away! Breanne, so glad your sister had you to retreat to! Saying prayers for the flood victims. Melinda, hope all is going better for you. Please post when you receive. Here's an update on the Swap: Erica REC'D Katie REC'D Emily REC'D Margo REC'D Breanne REC'D Heidi REC'D Robin REC'D Beth REC'D Amber REC'D Amber sends to Melinda Amy REC'D Shirley REC'D Faye REC'D Okay, I'm going to finish unpacking and get some dinner. Got to check out Katie's swap too! Later, Shirley!...See MoreOBF December Swap: New Calendar Year 2017
Comments (83)Hello everyone, I did receive my calendar on Saturday but I did not find it until Sunday. The mailman left it halfway on the porch. In doing so it got covered with a couple inches of snow. I only found it by accident. The box was soaked but not the contents. Everything inside was dry. Then off to work I go. I did not really had a good chance to look at it until I got off work this morning. I love the calendar along with a notepad, 2 post it pads, a pair of gloves and some Fried Egg gummies and a lollipop. Thank you so much Shirley. I loved all of it and I am sorry about posting so late. Thanks, Faye!...See MoreAnyone having houzz issues?
Comments (69)Price Gouging? Anyone experience this? We just purchased a table lamp 1 week ago that was "on sale": MFR: Surya, model # LMP-1059, $474.00 (w/$40 discount coupon). I reviewed our Houzz account today and this same lamp now is now selling for $745.00 (36% price increase!). Whaaat? You know how the page you're on shows you similar lamps / categories...and what do I see from another manufacurer?....the same exact lamp (pictoral representation along w/same dimensional specs) listed for $395! This mfr is "Doffing" vs "Surya". What I thought was a "deal" buying our lamp w/coupon for $474.00 now seems like a price gouging when I see the same lamp 1 week later offered from another distributor @ a 25% discount. This is terrible business practice....CORRECTION....No business practice at all! Unethical. We'll continue to use Houzz's website as a means of identifying design ideas for our house (with the intent of finding / buying them elsewhere), but I can't see us purchasing anything from them in the future given what seems like really shady / purposeful bait and switch pricing....See Morentt_hou
