I'd choose the wall paint first because that is the constant equation in my MB. The bedding changes between at least three different colors/patterns during the year; summer weight, spring/autumn weight, and it is relatively cold out there weight. And the bedding can change out of boredom, too. My walls haven't changed color since I first painted them three years ago.

I went through my "blue phase" where my bedding was a soft blue Cottagey floral, but for the last several years, I've been very content with our white-on-white MBR, which is actually a mix of creams and whites. The only pictures I have at the moment are of the Winter bedding. During the Spring and Summer months, I use a cream colored Matelasse instead of the comforter in this pic. As for taking into consideration my DH's preferences, I never have. He made an attempt when we first were married to have a more masculine MBR, but I nipped that one in the bud. I've never been one to think a cutesy, ruffly bedroom would be comfortable for a guy. BUT, I do think that a romantic bedroom is . . . frankly . . . more conducive to romance for both men and women. Anyhoo, so that's what kind of rooms I create and DH honestly likes them. I've just make sure that there's a comfortable chair for him to sit and read in, good lights to read by, no overhead lights (hate them) and rheostats wherever needed. No desk either! We both like our MBR very much; during the cool months, it's warm and cozy and in the hot months it feels cool and serene . . . and very romantic ;^D Lynn DH's favorite reading area. He's happy. My fav reading area. Me, too!

bumping back up because I am making progress!! scooped up two of these lumbar pillows last night at TJ Maxx, I'm kinda debating.... it seems like none of the throw pillows I am picking out are working!!! GAH!!! close up of pillow pattern. I had grabbed this light gray herringbone flannel to make a pillow cover myself, but I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Was thinking of making the cover and then doing a large applique monogram in navy on the front to match the blue pillow cording around the edge... Thoughts? or just go with the blue herringbone pillow? This is a pain in the butt. haha.
