Need help with counter-top and backsplash selection
Comments (1)I think white would be a nice contrast. I've attached a link to a GW member's (kellienoelle) kitchen that used Delicatus granite & a classic white backsplash. Comments (16)BEAUTIFUL! You have to enjoy working in your garden, because it is really well tended and planned also. Love it. I see your high chain link fence is like my back fence....7 foot tall and 100 feet long. I've planted Confederate jasmine...or trachelospermum jasminoides....or something sounds like that? It is evergreen here, and makes a gorgeous privacy fence withing a few years. Maybe in 4 years but by 5 it is very effective....they use it in Italy everywhere, including to climb over arbors, up old stairways, and covering fences to create a living privacy fence. Let me recommend it to you for that purpose. If you like, I'll create a Flickr album about the use of this jasmine in Italian gardens (the ones I saw anyway) in Umbria. Etc. Here the cabana was covered in blooming jasmine, the short fence covered in the jasmine is kept trimmed as a short hedge, no hint of the chainlink frame holding it up inside....See Moredark counters - tumbled stone subway tile backsplash: photos?
Comments (2)Hi Grannabelle, We just finished our kitchen a few weeks ago, and we put in the 3 x 6 inch tumbled travertine subway tiles ("Philadelphia" with the creams and beiges and grays) against our dark, "Tiramisu" granite. We don't really have a significant backsplash area, so I think the subway tile look works to give it enough interest but not overwhelm the small areas where we have it...I'm posting a few pix......See MoreNeed matching kitchen backsplash for dark granite countertops
Comments (4)no,,,to both of them. the first one is too white. the second one competes w/your stone. You have busy granite so you need something larger and solid. That 4" piece should come off. (it's easy enough to do. score it and peel it off the wall. if you damage the drywall, just patch and replace) here are some other splash options w/your Cosmos Granite. earth tone slate. this comes in many shapes I don't really like this white. it's too bright. a honed ivory or tumbled marble seems to be popular w/this granite, below here is one similar to yours w/stainless steel subway tiles I think if you did something like these, in a charcoal color and a lighter grout, it would look a lot nicer than a start white subway. a black slate or the black arabesque would also look good love this black marble in the herringbone too...See MoreMatt C
