I would say it is a tree seedling and possibly a Birch or Hawthorn. I'm not completely convinced the two seedlings are the same species - but maybe that's a function of the pictures..

Yeah they were taken with my phone and the one pic is kind of blurry. I don't think I'm sold on the Hawthorn because I've seen those seedlings before. As far as a birch goes, would the birch have the hairs on it like in pic 1? I was wondering if it'd be a Viburnum dentatum seedling.

Does look like a tree seedling but I doubt birch or hawthorn because yours has opposite leaves. Could very well be a viburnum.

I thought about grape but didn't think it was since the leaves are opposite and not alternating. I guess I'm going to have to let these little buggers grow and see what happens. They are near Viburnum dilatatum shrubs but I didn't buy any V. dentatums until this season, not to say a neighbor wouldn't have any. The leaves don't look like anything else we have.
