Benjamin Moore's "Pale Oak" undertones??
Comments (53)My living room was initially lavender....I freaked... and added an extra coat.... I freaked again and just tried my best to paint the greige or breige into those walls. I gave up in disbelief...MY.ROOM.IS.NOW.PINKISH.PURPLE. Fortunately, the problem vanished with four completely dry walls. The color so neutral I can redo this room with absolutely any design or fabric or carpet or special item and it adapts to mix and match with every color imaginable. Love it. The room I chose has challenging light shifts, but Pale Oak meets every shift in light with reliable neutrality. You will be able to be very creative with all added elements in a room painted this shade!...See MoreNeed to get rid of green undertones in living room paint
Comments (19)I moved some things around. The original lightbulbs were LED 2700. I haven’t tried LED’s in a different range yet, but I did take some of the green art and accessories away and experimented with adding cooler blues to the mix. I’m happy with the result....See MoreColor Advice - Determining Undertones
Comments (29)Appreciate everyone's input. glad to have an OHIO person responding too (yep, that's where I am too). Thanks for jumping in, Celery & for the colorsnap (very cool). I often follow along & enjoy your comments when you advise other people. I have a lot of paint charts and have already looked at many of those to see what looks good with the couch! I miss going to the fabric store because of the virus. I sew valances, pillow covers, table runners (yep, and masks). I've been looking at fabric on line to possibly make throw pillow covers - seen some nice ones from P. Kaufmann, maybe Waverly - but hesitate to order. It can't be returned! Light, warm blue seems to look good with the couch, and I think the green Celery posted would too. I've always loved green. And shades of red (but not true red). Any gold shades might clash with the couch....See MoreWhat color paint to make grey/blue carpet look more blue?
Comments (12)Thanks everyone! The major piece of furniture is a medium/french blue sectional that I love, and it does bring out the blue in the rug, and a dark grey media cabinet. My dilemma was do I go with a greyish/blue paint, which was my first impulse, and suggested by many of you, or a warm white with more "orange" undertones since the orange is opposite blue on the color wheel and would therefore potentially enhance the blue in the rug. But I definitely don't want the walls to look orange. Can't do photos yet as it is early in the construction phase- just framed out. Thanks for the lighting concern, I will have at least one lamp down there, but we are investing in high end recessed so it should be pleasant, and not like a garage or workroom. I also understand that other design elements will make a big difference, but we are talking about 1100 sq ft of carpeting so it will be a dominant part of the design. Just looking at swatches (carpet swatch next to paint swatch) I like BM Beacon grey... but am concerned it will read baby blue once up on the walls......See Moremay_flowers1
