Honda Accord 2014 or 2013 navigation
Comments (3)There were some issues with some early-production 2013 Accord navigation systems. But most 2013s function normally. All Accords have an 8" screen that Honda calls the i-MID (intelligent Multi-Information Display) mounted in the center of the dash. It is the display for the Rearview Camera, trip computer, Bluetooth hands-free phone setup and settings, displays incoming text messages and several other minor features. On models with Navigation, it is also the NAV display screen and interface. There is a separate, smaller touch screen directly below the i-MID that handles all audio system funcitons. The A/C system is operated using actual buttons that are located below the audio control display. While the Accord's Navigation is perfectly functional, reliable and intuitive to use, I have one major issue with it- the price! Navigation costs $2000 on the 2013 and $1775 on the 2014. In comparable GM, Ford, Nissan, Mazda and Toyota sedans, adding Navigation only costs $560 to $795. Honda's NAV is ridiculously overpriced, costing up to 3x what it does in other mid-size sedans! Personally, that irks me. (Note- if you haven't considered the 2014 Mazda6, you owe it to yourself to do so before you make a final purchase decision!) The other issue I have with the Accord is the Honda Lane Watch feature. A tiny camera is mounted on the passenger side mirror and, when you activate your right turn signal, the i-MID screen shows a 4x larger area of the lane/area to your right. While itâÂÂs better than just having the mirror alone, it isnâÂÂt nearly as useful as the Blind Spot Monitor available on many other mid-size sedans. I have a 2012 Mazda CX-9 SUV and it has a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system. Most BSMs use sensors mounted in/under each corner of the rear bumper. When a vehicle is detected within the âÂÂblind spotâ range being monitored, a yellow warning symbol appears on the outside mirror on that side of the car. If you signal a lane change while a car is detected in the blind spot, a warning alarm sounds and a red warning light flashes in the instrument panel. The benefit of a BSM is that it lets you know if a vehicle is in the blind spot on either side at all times, so youâÂÂre aware of your surroundings. If you still signal a lane change, it alerts you with both audible and visual alarms. Here is a link that might be useful: 2014 Mazda6...See MoreShark navigator pro... I bought one today
Comments (14)Oh good for you!! I know it is so easy to move it around, in the commercial she is dancing around the living room swerving around things, I am not dancing but it does get around! There is only one PRO version of this particular one, It is the Shark Navigator Lift away PRO, it is a white vacuum the regular model that is not PRO is purple. Shark has many vacuums however so being sure it is this particular one is important. This is it on amazon.(there is not much difference in the purple and white in price or in function but the white pro does have a larger debris container, some places have them both for the same price) Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional Vacuum - Model NV356 you may see a different number than the NV356 if you are buying at walmart or some other store that has their own specific codes. Mine is from walmart so the number is slightly different. Not sure if BBB has a different number. QVC might since theirs does come with added accessories. The suction on this vacuum is amazing. I have a large rug in my living room, that thing will suck down onto that rug and you can not move it, my cleaing lady said oh no what now, well there is a collar that you can turn that allows some air into the suction so that it "lightens up" and then you can move it. So if you find you are stuck LOL that is how to use it on rugs and stuff like that. I have noticed that when I use that sprinkle stuff on my carpets it tends to really get in the foam filter that is where the lift off part connects, I try to remember to clean my filters regularly as they suggest. I am so glad those of you with it are happy. I know I am. here is the official page it probably lists the differences between the pro and regular here the Navigator⢠Lift-Awayî...See MoreRecommendations for Personal GPS Tracking Device?
Comments (21)For a non-Alzheimer's person, my mom, we have GreatCall. It has an option and an app where you can track a person anywhere on your phone. It's a one button system, like a cell phone or med alert system, to a dispatch center, but is active anywhere they wander. You can also have it detect falls. The biggest complaints are size and battery life. If charging is going to be an issue, it may not be an answer....See MoreFixer Upper / Window Replacement - Need help Navigating The Options!!
Comments (24)Tell me again what is specifically personal about "Chuck in a Truck". That is neither personal nor an unknown term in the contracting industry. It not meant to be derogatory in my estimation and is merely meant to refer to persons that are sole proprietors that have little to no overhead in comparison. If you take issue with Fridge, by all means, take it up with him/her. I would respectfully request that you deal with them by name and leave me out of the response. If you would like to discuss the cost of doing business in a more employee driven system and why those expenses may be higher, I would be happy to do so. Perhaps it will give you some more insight and a better understanding as to why and how things cost the way they do in a different type of organization. For the record, I have more than a few friends that are enormously successful and competent contractors as sole proprietors. I take no issue with that, but to make a comment with regards to "mark-up" that it is merely a company making some enormous profit on the consumer, it flatly false, uninformed, and somewhat irresponsible. You are quite right, it is and open forum and you are more than entitled to your opinion. I would only caution that if you are going to hold yourself out as a resource of information, that the information be somewhat enforceable and factually based is all. I would no more cast dispersions about sole proprietor contractors that paint them in a negative light than I would comment on any large group of persons that are as varied and different as the weather. Perhaps that would be advisable for everyone when it comes to levying negative commentary that they be based in fact rather than opinion....See More- 11 years ago
