Pothos: repotting and pruning

Veronica

Hello,

I have a pothos that has huge vines already. I have been hanging them around, but some of the vines already lost their leaves closer to the pot. From what I read, that seems to be the natural reaction of an overgrown ivy, so I am thinking about cutting the big vines and start new plants from them. It also has been living in its original pot (I would say an 8 or 9 inch) for about 4 years, so I would like to repot it, as well. She deserves it, poor thing!

Now, my question is: would it be too stressful for the plant to prune it and repot it all at once?

Also: what is your experience with transferring cuttings rooted in water to soil? Did they do well, or is it just better to avoid change in the growing mean? (I have read conflicting information about this, so I would like to hear from your experiences).

Thank you in advance! :)

Veronica
