Did you figure out which kind you wanted to grow?

Summer showers is a F1 hybrid, no seed from a hybrid plant will always come true from seed. Better to use cuttings for propagation if you want more for next year.

Geraniums are hardy but not as seedlings. I'd wait until the weather warms a bit to harden them off. Setting them out when the weather is cold will just slow down their growth. From your website--it doesn't look like they are in separate pots. I'd take the time while you are waiting to put them in separate pots. Otherwise their roots will be so tangled you won't be able to get them apart. They are a long way from flowering. I start my geraniums in February and they are just starting to bloom when I set them out in May

Hello Molly, I have grown, Pelargoniums, Hardy Geraniums and Erodiums from saved seed. In the case of Hardy geraniums and Erodiums the seedlings were indistinguishable from the parent plants. I have also collected seedlings from around these plants that were self sown. In the case of pelargonims, they are actually half hardy perennials, I have grown two or three different named varieties from and found the to be identical to the parent plant. I have not attempted to hybridise any of these plants I would suggest that, if space permits, you lift your plants and overwinter them in a frost free environment as well as sowing your saved seed.
