Does anyone have a Sleeping Porch?
Comments (1)Well, I made a Garden Room, that was screened in, and had windows around the bottom. It also had a day bed, and was a nice place to nap.. actually it had almost a full kitchen lol. Search Garden Room in this forum and maybe you can find it. I don't know how to link stuff. I used a regular metal carport for the frame and ebay, craigslist, TS windows. Alas, it is no more, but everything will be recycled soon into our screened porch. Hope it goes well. I sure miss mine....See MoreTo sleep or not to sleep !
Comments (4)I can totally sympathize and I used to fret over how much sleep I was getting (or not getting) all the time. I was always waking up in the pre-dawn hours and it really bothered me I couldn't sleep through the night. But then last year, I decided to give it up and let my body settle into whatever sleep pattern I felt comfortable with. So I'm a total night-owl now and I rarely go to bed until well after midnight, usually between 1-2AM. That 'eight hours of sleep' thing is drilled into our heads all our lives, but everybody knows you don't need as much sleep as we age. I'm quite comfortable with 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night and can function just fine all day without feeling sleepy. The extra hours late at night are my quiet time and I spend it reading, working on craft projects, watching chick flicks, etc. It takes a while to adjust to a different schedule of sleep, but not fighting it made all the difference and I'm not staring at a dark ceiling at 3:00am anymore!...See MoreUpdated porches, decks, sheds, outdoor decor, etc.
Comments (2)Thanks, me too! That photo has a very romantic quality about it. I also love a bunch of the colorful decor on some of the very old fashioned porches. I always wanted a house like that....See MoreSleep walker....
Comments (18)My brother Mike (5 years younger than me) who shared a bedroom with me with we were growing up would sleepwalk. Sometimes he would walk into a closet and not be able to get out until someone rescued him. He would not remember any of this the next morning. He also talked quite a bit in his sleep, but if I asked him questions in his sleep, he did not hear me or respond to them. I used to talk in my sleep, but I don't think that I still do. I would remember what I had said in my sleep the next morning, however. There must be something else your neighbor can take besides Ambien to help her sleep. I think Melatonin is supposed to help and is quite safe. There might also be medical cannabis that would work. It worked for me when I worked graveyard shift and got home at 7 am and could not get to sleep at that time. Fortunately, I did not work that shift for very long....See Moretexasgin
