Roses that make stupid songs run through your head
Comments (26)Among the more inane things I do upon seeing certain roses, is to utter particular words or phrases -- some of which happen to be song lyrics. There are three of the roses linked below planted next to my compost bin. Every single time I visit that distant part of the garden and see her ever-present and always cheerful blooms, I spontaneously greet her by saying, "Well, coo coo ca-choo to you!" A somewhat wacky lyric fragment from a really terrific song . . . The gardener's compulsive utterances, however, probably qualify as being stupid. Comments (21)Yup. I'm afraid I killed this with my too hard contributions! 11 was At Last - often sung at weddings. Okay I'll make up for it with some easier ones - Not gonna let it die. It was a good idea! You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear how much I love you! He knows where she's going and she's leaving. She's headed for the cheatin' side of town. What a good wife you would be...but my life, my lover my lady, is the sea. I don't have much money, but if I did, I'd buy a big house where we both would live......See MoreWhat is your favorite song of all time
Comments (53)Way way too many to list, or even to bring to mind! My top one is probably Canon in D - My heart turns over when I listen to that song. Second, maybe River Dance. I love so many that are already listed in this thread. Someone mentioned Oh Danny Boy and in that same category is Loch Lomand, two ancient songs that I've sung thousands of times. Used to sing them to my kids when they were babies and still sing them to myself from time to time. I have some favorite hymns... Amazing Grace and This is my Father's World are a couple. Unchained Melody - Wonderful song mentioned above. Many others. I love country western and old time rock. My list would be dozens if not hundreds!...See MoreAny Hope for Love Song?
Comments (5)If it is mine I will try to root the green cane and start a new plant if you want to go that route. The die back of the current plant is really bad that it is not good for the canes growing on that plant. Love Song is a vigorous plant so either root the green cane or buy a new healthy one and enjoy all its beautiful flowers and save your energy for some other less healthy roses that need babying but you cannot live without. Good luck! Helen....See More- 11 years ago
