Blue Pearl vinca seeds - where can I get them?
Comments (5)NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I **adore** Blue Pearl. Adore, adore ADORE Blue Pearl!!! Well, thanks for the update, I guess I'll have to just try something new, seems I don't have a choice. The color of Blue Pearl was just perfection in my book, wonder if the Titan series you mentioned is the same (BP had no red tone whatsoever, which is why I love it). Why did the fools discontinue seed production? Blue Pearl was a constant top seller in my area!!...See More2 Questions for Esh
Comments (4)There is a native beauty berry - Callicarpa americana. When you are looking to buy it, make sure you check the name as there are some asian ones too. I have lots of seedlings - I could give you some of those. They grow pretty fast. I can also send you seeds in the fall via mail. Let me know if you can't find them. Nearly Native Nursery in Fayetteville has them - but they are closed for vacation until August 18th (you'll want to plant in the fall anyway). Fayetteville is a bit closer to you than I am. The black spot would be some type of fungus. Look at this link on tar spot and see what you think. You could also call your local extension service - they often are up to speed on local issues (for example, problems caused by too much local rain, specific insects, etc.). Thanks to recent rains, I am happy again; it sure was dry for a while there! Almost "drought" dry. Here is a link that might be useful: Tar spot...See MoreMy Get Up and Go Has Got Up and Went
Comments (7)I see it! I see it! Here! IÂm sending it back out your way! Catch! ItÂs been a HOT summerÂand the heat started early! I think there may be a lot of folks looking for their get-up-and-go! Since weÂre having a couple cooler days here in metro Denver, IÂm making myself get some things done. Started pruning my beloved juniper yesterday. The heatÂs down, but the humidity is UP, and I was dyingÂbut I kept going anywayÂuntilÂI saw a moving mass of yellow a couple inches from my hands! OMG! It was a wasp nest! IÂm allergic to hymenoptera! Got out the wasp spray and soaked the area, and started working on the other side of the juniperÂwhen what to my wondering eyes should appearÂbut ANOTHER wasp nest. Drenched that one, and cleaned up the juniper a little bit on the FAR side of the two nests. Since there were still wasps returning to their "extinct" nests, I wound up with about 80% of the juniper finished, and one corner sticking up a couple feet above the rest of it. Looked pretty weird! Just got in from finishing it today, and now IÂm all itchy and poky feeling! Just love junipers! But itÂs doneÂand the wasps are gone! Well, kinda! I saw a bunch around my compost pile earlier today. IÂll be out there with the wasp spray in a little while. But, anywayÂwith all the land youÂve got out there, and all the work you must be doing, IÂd say you deserve a few lazy days! Good luck with the fire call, and come home safely, Skybird...See MoreMUST have 'Blue Moon' wisteria!!! Heeeelp...
