I think I saw all the episodes and I'm not 100% sure. Aubrey confessed, but I thought that she might have confessed to save Carter. Russ killed himself after he shot Carter. I'm also not too sure of Hector's actual roll in the crime. I don't think that I will watch the show in the future. There was too much left unexplained. Maybe that was the point, but I like everything tied up with a bow.

Mare, I asked on another site, and people there don't know either. Apparently that's the way it ends, with questions. I like the "bow" too, but in real life that probably doesn't always happen.

I also thought I had missed something, so you're not alone, but after a while it almost became irrelevant because there was so much going on. What an excellent show! Certainly a cut above the rest of the 'wasteland' junk.

I thought that was the whole point -- no one is completely sure what happened and who did what and none of the characters are archetypes or stereotypes, even though the throughline is typical of American crime dramas. This turns on its head the basic mystery drama format where the audience have an omniscience that the characters don't, or, in Agatha Christie style, have a character who narrates the plot in the end. Considering the lack of a wrapped up in a bow ending, they managed to resolve each of the storylines. That's a real feat!

So the second season is supposed to be a whole new story, but, in the style of American Horror Story, some of the same cast. Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton are signed. (Not to be confused with AHS's Ryan Murphy's new show American Crime Story.)
