Did anyone watch the Leah Remini/Scientology show last night?
Comments (9)lilsophie and others, the first episode is available to stream for free at A&E. Most of their shows require you to sign up with your tv provider info, which I don't have and i suspect they won't show many or maybe any more episodes without it....See MoreDid anyone watch CNN last night?
Comments (42)💉💉💉 Pfizer says it will be unlikely to have additional Covid vaccine for the US until the summer. It’s been reported that months ago the US had an opportunity to contract for many more doses but declined. That’s very unfortunate. There is some moderate immunity conferred after the first shot, so that’s good news. The side effects felt after the second injection (a few weeks later) are along the lines of those experienced by the second Shingles shot — sore arm at the injection site for a day or two, and some feeling of blah all over. Just for a day or so. This demonstrates that the person’s immune system is responding. The vaccine has NO virus in it, but instead just a piece of the genetic code of the virus. There is no way that the vaccine can cause the virus in those injected. Dr. Kavita (sp) Patel (MSNBC) said she got to read some of the documents and details and is optimistic. A few weeks ago, she was waiting to see that information before committing to taking it. In Wales, vaccinations have begun and their system of prioritizing and administering (the logistics, and set up) seem exceptionally well organized and thought out. Wales has been hit very hard. From some of the video footage and narrative on MSNBC, it appears that after the vaccine has been removed from the very cold freeze, it can be administered within a five day window. I am feeling better about this. Oh, and as many of you might know, a lot of this vaccine development had been somewhat researched during the similar SARS epidemic. So researchers were not starting from a blank slate....See MoreAGT finals last night
Comments (19)Joann_fl, I have wondered the same thing. Seems like it almost has to be she is wearing everything in layers, It would have to be very thin light weight material that is strategically folded. Her constant movement and watching for the next 'outfit' would detract from noticing that she gets thinner as the act continues. She is the best quick change artist I've ever seen (not that I've seen very many), and I was fascinated the first time I saw her. But I doubt I'd be interested in watching her for more than a few minutes. And if my 'theory' is anywhere close to correct, her acts would be pretty limited as to length of time. I also thought she lacked personality. Rusty...See MoreDid anyone watch The Gilded Age last night on HBO?
Comments (7)Schoolhouse - I'll watch it all and hope that as the season develops it improves. Perhaps we're getting a condensed version since this season is only 10 episodes. The producers are hoping the ratings will be high enough to warrant a renewal. It wasn't bad and perhaps I should have added that I've read Edith Wharton and Henry James many times over the years and I may have been expecting the finesse and subtlety that are evident in their works. To be honest that isn't a fair comparison. I've always been fascinated by 'Novels of Manners' - The Age of Innocence, the Forsyth Saga, Jane Austen's works etc and really enjoyed shows like Downton Abbey, Upstairs, Downstairs. The premise holds true - The Gilded Age , especially in the Northeast, was a time of rigid social constraints where one's wealth and social standing determined your future. Gizmo - A few years ago I had the opportunity to spend a wonderful afternoon in the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. I knew about the infamous art thefts but I wasn't aware of her personal history. Thanks for the background. Maire...See More
