the eye screws idea is perfect, first i need to drill a smaller hole then screw in the eye screw right? My other concern is about planting the two posts as is if they will be stable enough, I found this instruction: 1 Mark the position of the center of the post and dig a hole for it with a post-hole digger or auger. The depth of the hole should be 1/3 of the total length of the post that will go in it, but make it a little deeper so you can fill the bottom with gravel for drainage. It should be wide enough to allow a space of at least 3 inches around the post for backfill material. Measure the depth and diameter of the hole with a tape measure. 2 Drop 2 or 3 inches of gravel into the bottom of the hole with a shovel, then place the bottom of the post in the center of the hole. Plumb the post with a spirit level. 3 Add wet concrete mix, gravel or dirt in increments of about 5 inches, tamping with a spare length of 2-by-4-inch lumber and checking the level each time you add material. Be sure to check the level on two perpendicular faces of the post. 4 Fill the hole to within a few inches of the top, then add dirt if you don't want the backfill material to be visible. You can also completely fill the hole with gravel or concrete if you prefer, or even use colored gravel for the final layer as a decorative touch. 5 Build the surface layer of backfill a few inches off the ground and tamp it so that it slopes away from the post. This will allow water to drain away from it. --------- I don't plan to use concrete, just dirt, if I follow these instructions will my two pots be reliable? Thank you, Ian

HI, I live in Taipei. I’m very upset with W.SCHILIIG ! I would not recommend any person to buy W.SCHILLIG products. Few months ago (Jan 2019), I spent about US $7000 to order one 3-seat W.SCHILLIG Intermezzo (P65) sofa at a local (a Taipei agent) department as those sofa at showcase booth are good and every sofa has a sew-in label says “Made In Germany” & “W.SCHILLIG”, so it won’t be a so-called ‘copied’ sofa. This is one of the reason I placed the order. But when I got my sofa delivered (July 2019), it smells weird and the quality is not as those I saw at the showcase booth (see photos below)! I had several discussion/meetings with local agent and brought my questions and photos to them and doubt is my sofa really “Made in Germany” or it’s a ‘copied version?? They could not provide any convincing date to me. The sofa I got does not even has any label indicating it’s “Made in Germany, No “W.SCHILLIG” either!! No one can tell where this sofa comes from! Recently, I got a letter (see below photo) from a W.SCHILLIG VP. His letter made me really disappointed and upset. He confirms me my sofa is absolutely made in Germany because W.SCHILLIG did ship one P65 sofa to the agent. That’s it?? He also says there is a label says “Made in Europe” (that’s the leather) and “Germany is a part of Europe, so no difference)!!!! I spend US $7000 for a sofa for Made in Germany, not Made in Europe ! I have no idea why Germany equal to Europe?? Because I was very upset, I sent the leather sample (see below, pls check if this is your stuff!) which I received together with the sofa to one of my country’s(Taiwan) famous test lab and do a test according to Taiwan national standard (CNS11677: Furniture Safety requirements and test hazardous substance of furniture surface). This is leather sample I sent for test From the report (see below photo), there is one item: Leaching concentration of chromium (Cr) exceeds our national standard about 10X !! (697 mg/Kg, the spec. is less than 60 mg/Km)!! The sofa I got is a bad. I asked W.SCHILLIG to check the info I provided to see if this is really their product. Well, they said yes. It’s really weird! Just don’t touch this company's product, then you won’t have the same headache I have. 1. Below is the report. The red circle on page 2 says Leaching concentration of chromium (Cr) exceeds our national standard about 10X !! (697 mg/Kg, the spec. is less than 60 mg/Km)!! 2. This is letter I got from a W.SCHILIIG VP. Let me tell you, no any consumer is able to tell where the sofa is manufactured and which company manufacture it. This is a great news for any guy who do the ‘copy’ version of furniture ! They do not claim their products are fake but ‘copy version’. I’m not sure if my sofa came from W.SCHEILLIG, but it seems your VP & CFO insist this bad thing came from you !! 3. These are some of the photos I provided to ask W.SCHILLIG folks to check if the sofa I got came from them.

If you hate ladder work (me too) and are willing to do it yourself, look into renting a scaffold. Mine had a generous 3x4 platform for paint tray and walking room, ladder rungs with hand rails on both sides. Easy access to the top, super stable and was perfectly comfortable for hitting the high area of wall in our foyer. Stood there cutting in wall at ceiling and it was eye level, nice! Comes in pieces like a puzzle for transport, just put it together at home. I got one at our local rent-it center for abt $75 for a weekend, or $150 for a week. Way cheaper than hiring it out. Piece of cake to work from. Just wanted to offer a tip for future reference. Every time I paint something I take a fresh wooden stir stick and with a fine tip Sharpie write the manufacturer, date, room, color name/#, sheen and formula. (Abbreviated you can squeeze all that onto half the stick at the handle end, using both sides if necessary. Don't use a fat tip Sharpie, it bleeds too much and is illegible.) Then dip the stirring end of the stick in the paint can (with paint well mixed) so it's covered about half way up but doesn't cover your written info. Set it on edge of can lid with newspaper underneath to catch any drips & let it dry overnight. I keep my painted sticks loosely rubber-banded in a storage box inside the cabinet where my brushes and misc paint sundries are. Takes up little room and you have a ready reference in a case like this, just walk in the store with your stick in hand. (I've found it comes in handy too when shopping for fabrics or other items for the room, painted stick is bigger than a small paint sample and is precisely what was put on your walls.)

I'm with seaglassic and slow on this one. Not only are those lovely and a family treasure, the workmanship on older pieces is FAR superior to modern pieces. Yes, I MIGHT break them, but only if I found them in a gs or ts (with a nick or two!!). If they were my mom's and if my children/grandchildren turned them down, I'd ask nieces and nephews, cousins, etc. If there weren't any takers in the family, I'd check the value and try donating them to an organization, museum, etc. in Mom's name. All of that long-winded stuff being said, I may be the one nicethyme is referring to on the tray. All the saucers on it had thin gold rims. I used Alene's tacky glue to protect it and that worked well. Only trouble I ran into was I had brushed the glue a bit too far on the back side and had to go back over the tray several times finding bits of it sticking thru the grout. Had to dig those out and re-grout those places...too tedious for me to do again so I'll be more careful next time! Pat
