The prolific blooms, hardiness, and non-aggressive nature of the old Jackmanii clematis got us interested in trying some of the Texas native varieties and their hybrids. These are the first blooms of a small c. Texensis 'Princess Diana' hybrid planted last year:

Usually we just plant and ignore until well enough established to train up the fence.... which the 'Princess' seems to be doing just fine. We've caught the bug and wondering what other Texas native clematis or native hybrids would be good to try (especially in the Dallas area)?
