Name That Plant!

Unknown Teucrium Looking for a name

I was sent these seeds from Colorado years ago with the word teucrium describing it. It is a great plant for xeric gardens and loves my alkaline soil and no watering. It stays very short and creates a nice mat between limestone and wall. A great filler for small spaces. I wish I knew its whole name so I could sound smarter when I trade it at plant swaps. ; )

Could it be teucrium chamaedrys?

Thank you, Yes, I thought that T. chamaedrys had glaocus foliage and grew from a central point and did not ramble in quite the same manner.. OR so the one that I bought said . It could have been miss labeled. The description from one nursery, I had was 1' tall and 2' wide and these are 5" tall and spreading everywich way. Digging dog has it 18" high and blooming in the dog days of summer. This has always been a spring bloomer. Here is a description of 12 - 15" in leaf and 24" in flower. OOH,OOH, I just googled a T. chamaedrys 'prostratum' that stays under a foot. There is A T chamaedrys 'Nanum' that is low and blooms rose. I guess I will just sit here and scratch my head. It gives them something I can rattle off at a swap and then say it is not a firm ID.

Interesting finds. Yes, likely to the first ID (pls. read up on Euphorbia sap as a potential skin irritant, if you don't already know about it). Sorry, but I disagree on the 2nd ID. Not Hatiora sali..., the segments are too long to be that, Hatiora's are shorter, more 'bottle' shaped, hence its common name Drunkard's ... do a search for them, compare w/ another photo, you'll see what I mean. Some kind of Rhipisalis sounds good to me, sorry, don't know which. If my suggested IDs are correct, that would make the 1st a succulent & the 2nd a cactus (FYI).

I have this one ( comparing the looks of it from the pick )and the leaves are burgundy when tiny and new. Then they will change to dark green. And there is not much of the white splashing - flaking on them compare to the other old fashion green carnosa. The other one with a lot of white flakes does not have new growth burgundy- just plain green. Hi Gina, no apologies needed:-) people her will chime in on the IDs, it's not a pain at all, and the list is a little less active because it's JUNE, yay, we are all out in the dirt:-) if you don't get a response soon, try this: repost your photos with numbers and just a short request for ID's. That makes it easier for folks to answer. usually you'll get several responses, with each person just IDing a couple plants, rather than one person doing it all. The numbers help make it easier for several folks to each focus on what they know best.

what I have purchased (several times, great plant!) as T. chamaedrys is not that in your photo. Mine looks like this in the link--the leaf is different shape from your photo:

it will start pretty soon, so I guess you could say late spring into early summer. I've had some of them over 10 years and they still look great!. I cut them down to the ground every couple of years and they come back like brand new.
