Asko Ventless Dryer

For anyone who didn't see my post. I have stackable w/d Asko Ventless. The dryer works fine as far as drying the laundry. The problem is, the area where condenser is, floods, and after a couple of loads spills out onto the floor. Have had 3 repair people here. The third is returning tomorrow. He assured me he solved the problem , by cutting a large piece off the drain hose. Made no sense to me. Had no water issue for 2 1/2 years. He wet a bath towel and put in the dryer and left. When the towel was dried, I opened the unit containing the condenser, and water came pouring out, same as before. I'm frantic at this point. I have a product that no one seems to know anything about. If anyone has any experience with these units, pleas chime in with your advice. Forgot to tell you that all people who came here were trained by Asko. Asko gave me the name of the company that's coming back tomorrow. HELP !

Not exactly sure what you mean by water pouring out. Perhaps posting a picture or two would help clarify the issue and get some help from other viewers.

Hi. What I mean is that for the first load or two, the water gathers under the condenser, but when there's too much water to fit, it starts seeping out onto the floor. Can't take a picture. I mopped it up. There never used to be any water gathering. I'm thinking drain clog or drain pump . But what do I know. Just want someone to figure this out. Problem is, I can't find anyone who's worked on these a lot. These people are all Asko trained, but we all know , after that it's what you learn in the field.That applies to everything. No one has a lot of experience with these.

There are not many ventless dryer users on this forum and I bet very few, if any, have an Asko. It might be a good idea to check on the Asko web site for the dryer user's manual, if you don't have one. Or call their customer support number.

Asko T712C 230v 30A I don't think it will heat up a room much more than a vented Dryer. (Dryer cabinets become warm) Heat is extracted from the Dryer into the condensed water which flows into a drain.

Thanks dadoes. The worst problems with these ventless machines is that most repair people don't work on them, or worse yet, they say they do and try to fake it. Unfortunately, I don't have the option of having a vented dryer. . From your mouth to God's ears.

Yes, I agree with getting a pair (whether you stack them or put them under a counter) -- I'm intrigued by the all-in-ones (and the LG gets pretty good reviews), but I do think that's a last choice if you really have very little room. I almost bought a pair with a ventless dryer last week, and I learned a couple of things to consider and check: Find out if you have the option to use a hose to empty the dryer condenser into the water waste line, and - if not - how to empty the condenser reservoir. Some are located in easier places than others. Check the required electrical outlets: The dryer will need a 220V connection but some washers are 220V and some are 120V -- but some machines allow you to plug the washer into the dryer, which means you'd only need one outlet plug (220V). And find out if you need to separately purchase a stacking kit, or if it's included in the cost. I do have the option to vent in my apartment, so I ended up going with a compact size that has a vented dryer, so I can't comment on any specific brands or models; when I was considering ventless, I was looking at Bosch, LG, or Blomberg. (I would have considered Miele, but it's way out of my price range.)

Sounds to me as if the dryer can't pump the collected condensate away from the condenser unit. Once enough condensate accumulates, it will spill out. Could be a broken drain pump or a clog somewhere.

Thank you whirlpool. I'm leaning in that direction. I hope they send a different person here tomorrow. I hope whoever comes here solves this mystery. I think it's the pump. This is making me crazy. So frustrating.

Update.. Well, a different person came here yesterday. Seemed to be more familiar with the machines.he examined very carefully and refused to leave until he solved the problem..he tried two things. He found a drop of lint ( I do mean a drop) in the gully which takes the water from the condenser and empties it into the drain.. He also tilted the dryer slightly back , by raising the feet, so the water would would be going towards the drain. I don't know which solved the problem, but ive done 4 loads of laundry, and nothing's spilling out. He examined the drain pump and the condenser and found nothing wrong with them. He ordered a new drain hose for me and agreed that by making it so short,(the last guy chopped a large portion off) it created a potential new problem it will pop out of drain when the water rushes out of washer. He also said it had nothing to do with my problem. All good news. Thank you all for your suggestions. Talk to you next time. e.
