Acoustic Panels in Kitchen with High Ceiling- Need opinions!

Our kitchen and living room are an open floor plan with side walls of 12' but a peak in the middle of 21'. In my opinion the room sounds echo-y and I've been looking for a solution (we already have rugs and curtains for some sound absorption). I came across a company called "Acoustical Solutions" and they make sound panels out of photos / art. Do any of you have experience with anything like this? Or other recommendations? These panels are expensive so they'd be an investment. I'd have to choose my art carefully (would probably buy off istockphoto) and would probably do 4 panels above our kitchen cabinets.
