Looks like it's snowing but it's plant stuff

White fluffy seed things falling thick and fast. Fortunately I don't have plant/pollen allergies, I am thinking that people who do must be pretty miserable during the few days/weeks this seems to happen every year.

I feel like this is the worst Spring I have had since starting with the allergist. There was so much pressure and congestion in my head on Saturday I was dizzy. Dizzy to the point I couldn't walk up steps.

Took all my regular allergy meds. Then throughout the day ended up taking sinus pills (Sudafed) 3 different times, which I'm not supposed to do, it elevates my BP. I also took advil 3 different times. Finally got it calmed down around 5 pm.

I hate Spring.....

ha ha Not at my house...we have 1/2" of small hail. On top of that, we got 2.5" of rain today.

It's not good using any groundwater to water carnivorous plants. Your best bet would be to use distilled or rainwater. Groundwater, such as that from a natural spring, contains dissolved minerals within it. As for the damaged pitchers, as long as they're not completely brown, then I would just leave them for the time being. They will still continue to photosynthesize (which is still a carnivorous plant's primary source of energy), and help it grow newer pitchers to replace them with. Just as you said, there is already a new pitcher growing. Which is always a good sign. Your plant will recover, just give it some time, and plenty of sunshine.

I am truly sympathetic for those of you who suffer from plant allergies; I can only imagine how awful it must be.

My husband is affected to some degree, but his allergies don't make him miserable like it does so many. I'm not bothered at all.

katlan, I've NEVER experienced a Spring like this, and felt glad I wasn't one of those people who suffered with allergies.

I have been stuffed for weeks on end now, and get sinus pressure and headaches. My ears are stuffed.

I. Am Miserable.

I have to call my doctor to see what otc medicine I can take (given my current meds).

It has been terrible. I was scrambling around looking for my nasonex box so I could call in my refill, apparently the box got thrown away but the pharmacy had a refill on file thank goodness. It's been making me cough so much from the sinus drainage. I keep pinching my nose and trying to pop my ears, it helps sometimes. If you are having the sinus problems I really recommend using a netti pot with the solution for it. It does a good job of clearing them for a while. I use the Neil Med one.

I am taking all my prescription medications and still suffering. At least every thing isn't coated with yellow pollen any more. It was like living in a yellow world.

Lucille, if you have willow trees nearby, that might be where the little, white fuzzy stuff is coming from. I don't have allergies either, but I don't know if anyone is allergic to that one.
