Herbs Used in Toe Nail Fungus????
Comments (36)Jen, Pooh would probably still need a better quality shoe just so the orthotics aren't made useless by a shoe that won't hold up to the weight and stress put on it. I mentioned above, about the Carolina boots that fell apart after a year or so, and then were replaced with the Red Wings. I kept them around for a few months before I finally tossed them. I was going to put them on just to go out on a wet day, and even though I thought they were still wearable for comfort when I quit using them, my foot shape had gone back to what it had been before, and trying to walk in the old boots made my feet sit crooked on the floor. My wife had the orthotics made for her when she was diagnosed with PF and the shoes she had were SAS. They did help a little. She finally started wearing Birkenstocks on a regular basis, and most of her problems with PF are relieved. Pooh, I'm not sure if you find boots uncomfortable because of a higher top around your ankles or if your feet get sore because of a cheap insole. I've bought cheap boots from K-mart that were good for about an hour before my feet started killing me because of the hard insoles and poor design. Except for the two pair of Red Wings I returned, every pair of that brand has been comfortable for all day wear. If you can find a Red Wing store near to you, I would suggest at least trying them on, even some of the lower cut styles. Red Wing still has a good reputation for service and quality, something you won't find with a cheap Walmart shoe, and they will help you fit them properly. Good luck to ya. Comments (25)I havent worn crocs in years but they do keep your foot cool-- the textured bed and air vents are the key, I think. I loved them for dog walks, gardening and for quick trips to the grocery store. I also think those keen slip ons would be the same and likely offer more structure. I also love fit flops (not flip flops-- FIT flops) -- they offer great support and even the thong style fits so securely that you don't have to worry about them coming off as you run around. I have a bronze and a silver sequin pair but they come in many styles and colors. I also have a couple of pairs of these nike rosherun shoes-- they are mesh so very comfortable, light and airy even though they have a closed toe. You can't tel from the photo but the mesh around the foot is very thin-- in fact, I have the lime green and it is almost see thru. They are very comfortable -- so much so that I don't like to wear them for serious exercise kind of walks. They definitely wear more like a slipper than a nike sneaker....See MoreFrithia pulchra (Baby Toes) Question
Comments (10)Thank you so much, I do appreciate it. I've been worrying over this plant far too long so I figured I'd come here and ask. I'm thankful for this site and all of the awesome people that make it what it is. I'm hoping to eventually find some seeds but not sure where to get them. I did get some from one of my Fenestrarias and noticed yesterday that I successfully made it past the cotyledon stage (I know I'm nowhere near out of the water yet!) and I can see the itty bitty baby toes forming, it's really cute. My baby lithops are looking pretty good as well so I thought I'd try with F. Pulchra because well, why not? (:...See MoreSolutions for nail fungus? (Gross, I know!)
Comments (27)I wonder if there aren't different strains of fungus, with some more resistant than others to treatment. I only wear sandals during the summer months but the fungus didn't care. Since starting this thread I did several things and the fungus appears to be gone. First, my dermatologist put me on an anti-fungal med by mouth (not Lamisil or the like but a general anti-fungal med, the name of which escapes me). At the same time I began using Footlogix mentioned above. I also purchased UV lights for my shoes (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=shoe+uv+light+sanitizer&crid=AOBI4833CXKR&sprefix=shoe+uv+lights%2Caps%2C234&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_14) and have been religious about using them. I also put my feet under a UV manicure light for 15 minutes twice a week but have recently reduced to once/week. I apply sunscreen beforehand. As I said, the toenails now look great but given the ups and downs I've had over the years, in my mind it is lurking around so I continue with UV lights and Footlogix. With few exceptions I didn't/don't get pedicures and only occasionally apply polish myself for special occasions removing it as soon as possible. My experience has shown the fungus to come on very fast so I don't want polish to obscure my ability to see it early on. Again, I appreciate all those who offered advice!...See MoreUser
