HomeStretch Sofas - Good Quality? Anybody have one?
Comments (66)I read the reviews before our purchase that we made in 02/21. In the showroom the sofa was extremely comfortable, sat exactly how I needed it to sit for me. I'm 6'1", 225 lbs, 66 with a history of lower lumbar issues. It was delivered and was wonderful - for about a month. It sank at least two inches. Seriously, so much that when I used the sofa it began to increase my back pain and then began to cause difficulty getting up from the sofa because the sunken portion places me in a position where my pelvis is lower than my knees. I finally made a claim with our furniture company - which has been great to deal with - and they sent someone to look at it 06/21. Yes, there's a definite issue the repair man said, and yes, maybe it's just a bad piece of foam. BTW, both reclining ends did this. So new inserts were ordered and their repair man brought them and put them in on a Tuesday. Before the next Tuesday rolled around, the sinking feeling has returned and is worsening. There's definitely something not right with the quality of the foam used here, or there's something wrong with the platform that supports the foam. Everything else seems to be quality and is to be appreciated, but honestly, what good is reclining 'comfort' furniture if that comfort doesn't last more than a month or even less? With that said, I know there's nothing better out there. Seriously. I think folks just need to understand this isn't going to hold it's comfort the same way it does when you try it out in the showroom....See MoreParsons Chairs - where to find
Comments (6)They always have them at Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Max. You should also try consignment stores in your area. Also the Home Decorators Catalog(on line site, also)and I remember the prices not being too bad in their last catalog. Depends how you feel about on-line ordering, sight unseen, and no 'trying out' the comfort....See MoreNeed options for good quality, mid-range cabinet brands
Comments (47)@Wes Hunt I believe Shiloh does an industry-standard post-catalyzed conversion varnish, so hopefully the finish will be more durable for you than Kemp would have been. As I'm sure you're aware, there are several different levels of pricing within the lines offered by W. W. Wood Products, Inc., Shiloh's parent company. Shiloh for some reason hasn't amassed many reviews around the web at the time of this writing outside of those on Houzz, but there are several threads here at Houzz that do discuss Shiloh's offerings and warranty fulfillment in depth. One of the things I've noticed is that people who went with the less expensive lines wished they had upgraded to the top Shiloh offering, and for people who did receive defective pieces, it was sometimes an issue getting satisfactory warranty service. If you are working with a reputable sales rep, hopefully they would take care of any issues you had promptly. Plenty of people have been very pleased with their Shiloh cabinetry. The tolerances on Shiloh's inset styles aren't as tight as you'd see from more expensive brands like Christopher Peacock or Kennebec according to some reviewers familiar with a wide range of brands, but for many people who want to save and yet still want that inset look, Shiloh does just fine for them. Of course, as you're aware, inset is not the only style Shiloh offers. I hope your project goes smoothly. Thanks for allowing the Houzz community to have input into your research process....See MoreWho makes a good quality exterior door threshold?
Comments (1)You want a door sill, preferably aluminum in my opinion. HD or Lowes if they have one in stock will not be any different than a lumberyard door sill. I would definitely get one with an adjustable oak cap as opposed to a non adjustable sill....See Morejoaniepoanie
