I'm using Sally Hanson gel polish now, it stays on for two weeks. My current color is a soft lavender named street flair.

That is fun. Alas, I am hard on nail polish, so I stick with the neutrals. I don't think I remember even once when I didn't get a nick or smudge less than an hour (or sometimes sooner0 of walking out of the salon.

I can't have manicure on a regular basis. They tend to make my nail crack and split.

So, I only reserve going to the salon for special occasions.

Great colors! I would totally wear them on my toes but I just can't pull off bright colors on my hands. They're not dainty, so I don't want to accentuate them with a big 'ol clown nose, KWIM?
I prefer soft pinks, tans and grays. I went to NOLA last week so I went crazy with a soft pink with sparkles. Not my hand, but something like this:

LOL on '"clown nose." I like all these colors. This is my favorite neutral, OPI Passion.

I get shellac manicures every three weeks. Mine are CND Tiffany Blue right now. It is fun for spring, but a little bright for me. I'll try to post a pic later.

I'm with you MagdalenaLee - I have 2 arthritic fingers that have bumps now and don't like calling attention to them so my go to for manicures is a sheer pink. That said, part of me wants to say the heck with what anyone else thinks, I want some fun colors on my fingers for a change! I'll try just about anything in a pedicure - isn't that strange that I'm willing to call attention to my toes and not my fingers!

I do the same, DLM. I usually have a french manicure on my nails and then have fun with my toes. It's not really that I want to draw attention to them (i have ugly toes!). It's more about making me happy! In the winter I like to wear blues on my toes.. in the summer it's either bright and cheery or metallic.

I rarely get a manicure, but I just got one for Hawaii. "Baby Love" by DL; the very pale pink of a french manicure. I am tough on my nails and and they usually look pretty silly in anything with real color. BK, before kids, I used to have very natural looking tips. That went out with diaper changing.

However, I have pedicures regularly. And though I try other colors, to me red toenails are a classic I always come back to. My fave color is Kennebunkport. It is the one, and only place I like red.

I'm another who loves a french manicure on my fingers and will go bright on my toes. A deep, bright pink is my favorite. I love the blues/turquoises, but I wear a variety of clothing colors and hate having nails that clash with my clothing - if that makes sense. Red nails are too harsh for me, plus I wear way too much pink clothing to go with red polish. I very rarely wear anything red.

Mtn, we were mani/pedi twins when we met and didn't even notice! Always do red on my toes, but have never been able to wear it on my hands. Usually have a french manicure, but have cut back a bit on manicures, because like Ellendi, they were causing my nails to "delaminate" or peel/crack in layers. I do use some clear/pink polish with some sparkle to protect the nails, 3 - 4 coats.

I have now realized that the damage is done by their too aggresive filing and buffing. I now do my own filing and have the nail salon do cuticles and polish. No touching of my nails with any of their files or buffers. Haven't had any nail splitting since I started doing this.

Red toenails on me always make me think of matchsticks!! I can do deep pinks, corals, fashion grays, blues.... but if i try red I always end up taking it off within a week. And it's not as if I have long skinny toes!

I hardly ever get a manicure but get pedicures regularly and wear a variety of colors, depending on the season. Right now it's one of those new OPI Hawaiian colors, just lanai-ing around. If I get a manicure, it's usually for a special occasion, or when we go out I'll do a quick polish myself, and I love a neutral color like Passion. Doesn't show the chips I'm bound to get as quickly.

I save in many other ways, but my one personal splurge is having my nails done every 3 weeks. No pics, but I've stayed with French manicures for the past 10 or more years. I'm very tough on my nails, and French works best for me. Pedicures are more infrequent splurges but oh how I love them (and am getting both tomorrow)! I always go with a pale pink or medium rose color polish on my toes. I'm very conservative when it comes to my nails. No designs painted on. No colors other than clear (French), pinks and very occasionally a red.

I usually get either OPI Bubble Bath or Essie Mademoiselle on my fingernails, but I was inspired to go a little wild the other day because we are finally having springlike weather! So now I have a new OPI color called Just Lanai'ing Around (I think that was the name).

Sadly, I only have 3 fingers. LOL.

I'm due for a pedicure because we're going to Charleston, SC next week (yay!). I will probably go back to neutral fingernails and something fun for my toes.

Anyone tried Jamberry peel and stick nail colors? I have a cousin who is really enthusiastic about them lasting a long time, and since my typical manicure looks like dreck in a couple of days, I'm interested. Not sure if she's just drunk the MLM koolaid or if it really is an improvement over traditional polish. Personal experiences?

My daughter and granddaughter have used the Sally Hansen stick on nail polishes. They look great and do last a whole lot longer than a regular manicure. The bonus is that they are ready to go as soon as you finish applying them ...no dry time.

Just got a mani/pedi today for our Arizona/CA vacation. Also got my eyebrows waxed. Here's my spring color (didn't get the name, but it's OPI gel on fingers and regular polish on toes). The best part is the hot stones massage of the legs/feet....devine! The worst part-ripping the brows-yikes does that hurt.

I ordered a bottle of Just Lanai'ing Around from Amazon. Hope it arrives before my next nail appointment on Thursday. My blue is still looking really good from last Friday. Wow.

Finally got to have the Just Lanai'ing Around put on today. Love it! Great shade. Had to have a few cut down since I've had a few nails break in the past week. Too much time doing final grading on the computer.

I had to go up thread to see what your color is, it's pretty !!! I'm back to neutral, no pop of color.

I have on Just Lanai'ing Around on my toes again now, but I'm going to try Go With the Lava Flow next pedi. It's a bit of a coral, almost red. I put a bit of it on and I really liked it but decided to wait until next time for it.
