Comments (79)Thank you everyone for coming to the swap.I think everyone had a great time. I know I did. I can't believe the food you people brought. It was gourmet awesome. I hope we get recipes . Those of you who left things behind, I have put them on top of the refrigerator and you can pick them up in the fall. I was out today starting to plant all my treasures. Lisa, I have put the coral bells in a shady moist area vey near my red astilbe. I will be giving it tender loving care. I also planted my chocolate joe Pye weed in a place of honor in my garden. It is just awesome. How tickled I am, Deidre, to have this beautiful plant. I also planted dahlias, sedums, jack in the pulpits, lavender, and butter fly weed all wonderful plants I will be getting up early tomorrow to plant the rest of my treasures I put some pictures on Facebook If you are not a member you can ask to be my friend and that should get you on....See MoreSpring Swap 2015
Comments (35)I am interested in Edsiajb's Tillandsia as well; let me know what you are interested in. And Kenneth, I would like any of the following: red Angelwing begonia, jades, gasterias, aloes (anything for a strawberry pot), as well as any alternathera / coleus you have left over (if it's from the sale I will compensate/donate for it, please). You are welcome to anything on my exchange page, but I am saving you the best manettia cordifolia I have (very hardy for me and a "crackhouse" for hummingbirds and butterflies!). I'll be updating my trades and placing all info on my Exchange Page if I can find it. I'm still trying to figure out this new GW site, while trying to familiarize myself with the new "Southern Living Garden Book". Those two things are irritating enough - tomorrow I have a root canal, so "stay tuned". ;-D (Below is a shot of one of my many clumps of pulmonaria, ordered from "up nawth" because B'ham nurseries deem it not hardy here. It's 5+ years old, and been through one of the hottest/driest summers on record.)...See MoreHAVES: 2016 SPRING MAG SWAP (Saturday, May 7) - Plants You Have List
Comments (40)Likewise!! It was so wonderful actually meeting everyone and thank you SO very much for your generosity! Gardengramma, thank you especially for hosting, and providing such a gloriously beautiful place for us to meet. (You did am amazing job dialing up the weather as well). Since I got there without my leucojeum or redhot poker I'd be open to making one-off arrangements. I had to get the leucojeum right back into the ground but I can dig some more. Some people also mentioned a possible fall meeting? Which of course would be better for leucojeum, peonies, other fall-dormant plants... One other note - I thought I'd be able to tell people this as we traded but it was a little too chaotic -- in our area we have a serious problem with Japanese stilt grass, very invasive in the woods near us. I don't know if it's widespread but I don't want to be responsible for spreading it. I'm pretty sure I did not include any ride-alongs in my trades, BUT, stilt-grass makes a lot of seed. It's incredibly easy to pull up and easy to kill, but if it goes to seed, it makes an awful lot. Don't let anything grassy come up in your transplants......See Moresequoiadendron_4
