My huge King apple tree, drawn by a friend. Unfortunately, it's down to only two main limbs now. A hundred or so years ago, someone installed a ring (to hold horses) at the base of the limbs, which allowed moisture to enter and begin the rotting process. One limb missed the porch by inches when it came down. Fantastic apples.

Comments (14)Jasdip, my daughter is a classically trained dancer and attended the local high school of the arts. Once she grew out of her Pointe ballerina body, she went into Lyrical, Modern and Commercial dance. While at college in NYC, she worked for the guy who taught Al Pacino to dance the tango in the film Scent of a Woman. He took her under his wing and taught her the Argentine Tango. To this day, it is still her favorite dance. I don't have many photos of her dancing but did find one taken a couple years ago. Comments (11)In much of SE Asia, it is very common to see spirit houses. They can be very small and plain all the way to large and elaborate. The spirit house provides shelter for spirits that could cause problems for the people if not appeased. The shrines often include images of people and animals. Offerings of food, drink, incense and flowers are left to nurture the spirits. In return the spirits offer protection and good fortune.
