I was sitting here watching TV when the phone rang. I picked up the phone and tried to use it to mute the TV to answer the call.

angelaid, I watched DH pick up the remote and try to punch in his sisters number one evening. The look on his face when he realized he had Comcast not AT&T in his hand was priceless ;)

This is so funny! I've tried to use the computer mouse when I'm using the ipad at my computer desk. That just doesn't work!!!

Isn't it great when there's such an easy fix? I had an electrician in to change out some lights and told him I was so worried about a new-ish light that only lit until "brown," thinking it might be a fire hazard. He walked over and turned the dimmer up. I sure did have a good long laugh. :)

How are you, Moni? You've been a little quiet. Any bike trips on the horizon? Were you able to quit your job yet? I hope I'm not being too nosy--disregard if I am.

Did the same thing the other day. I tried and tried to open the car, thought the lock motor must be dead, but it was the wrong key. DUH! I always feel silly when I figure it out.

sjerin I am still working. Waiting for my tooth to be finished... and then I will finish out the school year.

No big bike plans made yet. I will have my grand daughter for the most of her summer vacation. Then, no one knows yet... including me. ;)

I had made some changes in my TV service and was talking to a Tech. He told me to hit number xxx, so I did . . on the phone. He laughed and said "I think you used the phone, not the remote." DUH!!

My 6 year old grandson just taught me how to pair the Roku remote. Step 2, pair remote. I kept pushing OK..OK...OK...until he intervened. Papa, see the flashing arrow pointing to a button on bottom of remote, try pushing that. It worked.

My dh drives a keyless vehicle that starts by pushing a button. He got in his second vehicle the other day and sat there waiting for the car to start. That vehicle is started by turning the key.

I'm bad about using the toaster without plugging it in.

Sometimes it works too well. My best friend and I are both techno people, so we try gimmicks and mess things up.

He got a new phone last week, and ever since, when I call him, I can't hear him, and he can't hear me. Then he'll call me back and we'll be ok.

He figured out yesterday, that his new tablet was talking to him (while I was trying to call)..and remembered he'd pair'd the tablet to the new phone. Problem solved.

Pushed button on key to open car door!! Would not open, pushed it again and then my DD said---Mom that is not your car. Two cars sure do look alike! Glad the other person was still inside shopping as I tried to open 'her" car.

Marie: Pushing the button isn't as embarrassing as actually trying to put your key into ... someone else's door lock! Yes, I did this, but like you, I was very happy that the owner was still shopping and wasn't running out to see who was messing with his/her car!

And to everyone else: I think that as we age, at a certain number we should all be assigned a 10-year-old to help us understand things! (There is a reason I cling to my cheapy flip-phone!)

I cannot tell you the number of times I've given up and just handed whatever tech thing it was to my son, even years ago. heavy sigh

a couple of weeks ago I was at a Dr. appointment. I was driving our white Buick. I came out and got in. I am short, but when I got in the seat was too far forward and I thought I don't remember it being that far ahead on the 40 mile drive there. I looked up and saw a flyswatter laying on the dash. I knew right away it wasn't my car. I got out and my car was parked 2 spots over. It was the same kind of car. Neither one of us had locked our doors. Good thing I didn't try to start it. With my luck it would have started if at all possible. About 35 years ago we were going to go fishing early in the morning. We stopped to buy minnows and I came out before DH. I sat in the car and waited a few minutes for him. I looked over and saw a purse on the seat beside me, that's when I realized it wasn't our car. I know this has happened at least one other time to me if not twice. I sure get out of those cars fast and am glad the right owner did no come out and see me.

Just tell 'em that you were looking after/protecting their car: look - everything's intact, right where it belongs ... (and the car's still here).

Sometimes I have to go back to the room from which I just came ... to remember what it was that I came in here for.
