Anyone have experience with Pacific Sales for appliances? (In Bes
Comments (23)To add to your comments, sjhockeyfan325, I had never heard of Pacific Sales until I walked into Best Buy and saw their display. It is sort of odd - I don't recall seeing any advertising, however I don't watch tv much. I'm more apt to watch Netflix. The new display was truly amazing (not what I expect from Best Buy) - they had this huge wall interactive display - if I remember correctly it was for just one of the brands. I would love to see stores like that have an app, where you could scan a barcode on an appliance, and it would appear in a mock up of your kitchen. For kitchen design, you should be able to add a floor plan, input an image of doors/colors/countertop, then place virtual appliances. The Pacific Sales/Best Buy in Dedham also had some more mid-range brands, but those high end ones are so beautiful! By the way, I'm glad to see that others are choosing to mix up their appliances - I really think that is the way to go - different brands really do different types of appliances better. Oh, in case anyone is looking to call up the Pacific Sales/Best Buy (I wish they would shorten that name!) the salesman I was speaking with said to not call the main number - it can take a long time. They have a direct line - I just dug the info out of my purse; (781) 320-1894 (the 0 might be a 6 - sorry, I was in a rush). If anyone visits one of those stores, and wants to call the store later, make sure to get their direct line....See MoreCalling all tiling experts: Hydroban or HPG?
Comments (27)You will get aprox 50 Square per gallon of Hydro ban if you apply it over Green EBoard or cement Board on the rough side. You will get closer to 60 Square feet of coverage over the smooth side of Green EBoard. Can you measure out the exact square footage and what you plan for a shower base and the walls. The Kerdi Drain is an excellent product but a bit on the pricey side at $130.00 Nobel makes a sweet little adapater piece for a regular drain $12.00 that can give you a liquid tie in point. Contact Laticrete for approval - I spoke just two days back to Eric at Nobel head office and he told me about this greta Nobel product. I have some of those en route as well. Eric is a great guy - email him and he can tell you all about it. I wish he chimed in here from time to time... Eric? Comments (16)I think the realtor I contacted is trying to set it up for a Tuesday look. Interesting comments on the potential layout. The auditor's site makes it sound like 1 floor with an unfinished attic. Sounds like they did something to have 1 bedroom on the main and partly finished out the attic...not sure how you do that in a ranch, they'd have to put in stairs? I hope it doesn't have one of those metal spiral things.... I wouldn't care if the LR were in the back per se. But according to the listing they have added a porch to the back and if that blocks the living room light I'd be unhappy. My perfect house was a 50s 1150 rancher with a LR that faced south with a mature maple in the front yard. Shaded the LR in summer, let in tons of light in the MI winter. Which left the back porch in the north, also shaded by a maple, nice a cool for hot summers. As for the windows...something about 2 separate windows in the same room, especially if it were the kitchen I think might be annoying. Guess I'll have to wait and see. I'm most interested in the back and how the house relates to the property and what the property is like. That and the price. Since it was bought in 2005 for 219 and put on the mkt for 199 then dropped two weeks later to 179, I think that 179 is a teaser. Its reading tea leaves but I figure 199 was probably what was owed to the two lien holders. 179 is probably an ok price, but for me personally its pushing it. Plus I need to have enough money to replace that...portico? is that what its called? :)...See MoreDoes anyone know how to find a painting seen in a movie?
Comments (6)I recently read a story about a movie goer noticing a rare painting on a set. After doing research, he found that the painting had been purchased at a flea market specifically for this movie. The painting ended up being worth a lot of money. Of course, the set people had no idea what they had! I know from experience that many of the movie sets have items purchased from flea markets, garage sales, and estate sales, along with a stock of warehouse merchandise kept on the production grounds. Many years ago, my family lived in Beaufort, SC where the movie The Big Chill was being filmed. Many items for the movie set were picked up in and around our town. They were mostly used to decorate the Tidalholm kitchen and family room. After the filming ended, the production company had a Big Chill sale on the items used in the movie. By the time I got to the sale, there was not much left. I ended up purchasing a red painted natural basket that sat on the top of my kitchen cabinet for years. I eventually sold it at my own garage sale. Paid around $10 for the basket, and sold it for about $1. :) Tidalholm Good luck finding your painting!...See Morecataan
