What's for Dinner ... Sunday

I doesn't look like anyone has started this thread yet.

Tonight I made risotto with shrimp, asparagus and mushrooms with crescent rolls and a salad with vinaigrette dressing. It was so good that its a half hour later, and I'm still smiling.

Great dinner Bob. I love meals where you feel so good after eating it.

We had well-done roast beef with carrots around the roast. Cut 2 whole onions in wedges (not through the bottom) and drizzled with olive oil and worcestershire and soy sauce. Wrapped in foil and baked. Mashed potatoes.

Made 2 loaves of honey-whole wheat bread today as well.

Satine, your little supper is one of my favorite snacks. Love it! I'll bet two meat loaves were awfully good....and totally different from each other. There are so many ways to make meatloaf and I can't seem to get it right, ever. :-( Lots of pancake lovers here at the kitchen table! Robert fixed a batch for us one day last week. Jas, your meatballs sound fabulous! Hoisin sauce is one of my secret ingredients in several things. I don't think that I've seen that movie; I'll have tl check it out.

Hi Rhizo, We took a couple of friends to Costco today. She always wonders what the attraction is, and said that things can be expensive. I agree, you have to know your prices, and shop sales in the fliers. But there are things we only buy at Costco. San Marzan tomatoes are not sold in our stores anywhere, but Costco now sells them. She went for specialty crackers and ended up spending $80. We teased her mercilessly on the way home! LOL We stuck to our list, but did splurge on a couple of bath towels. We always look at them, and the price is only $8; equal to garbage at Walmart, so we bought 2 today. If they last like they should, we'll buy a couple more another time. We don't buy milk there, as all of our grocery stores sell milk for $3.97 for a 4-litre bag (1 gallon). But this week dairy went up by 50cents, so we bought milk and half-and-half there, as they were selling it at the "old" price, with no intention of raising it. Costco includes the hotdog and drink combo and hubby and I split a fries. That was a big lunch, so we just nibbled for dinner. I had porridge and hubby had bran flakes and a homemade oatmeal cookie. LOL

Hi Kittie. Grilled veggie paninis. It was our first time having eggplant and we love it grilled. Also a wile and brown rice salad with veggies, sliced water chestnuts, and other stuff. I think we just discovered our new summer sandwich. LOL

we went out to HuHot. OMGosh, I love that place. You get a bowl, fill it with whatever ingredients you like, add sauce and they cook it on a big round grill. 5 meat choices, many seafood choices, three types of noodles, many many fresh vegetables, tofu, beans, then on to the sauces and oils....probably 20 different ones. You choose what you like, it's all fresh and cooked as you watch. And.....you can go back as many times as you want. I got three small servings of different things. Now, I'm STUFFED. And, it's all healthy.

We had stuffed shells (stuffed with ground beef mixture) and a tossed salad. I want some of that risotto!

Your dinner certainly does sound delicious, Bob. We had blueberry pancakes. Breakfast for supper.

We had rib roast and gravy, with roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips and asparagus. I go back to work for the season this week, so I have some roast left for sandwiches for Monday and Tuesday.

Robert went fishing yesterday and brought back several nice stripers. After he filleted them, I blackened them with cajun seasoning, made a Napa cabbage slaw, and served them with our favorite mango salsa. We love fish tacos!

I baked a 10 lb ham on Saturday. Yesterday was Navy Bean soup with the ham bone.
