How do you mail fig cuttings?
Comments (11)Definitely wrap each one in damp newspaper and mail them priority, that is the best. Also sometimes i use leftover Chinese restaurant containers if they are plastic, the flat small ones shaped like baking dishes that the entrees come in, they seal great and give a little more security and they come with the plastic lid over top. I have shipped many cuttings and other small plants in these. Not the won ton soup containers, the flat ones with lid, when we order Chinese, I save all of these plastic containers they are so great to store food into frigerator. Ciao best luck to you . Of course wash well and sterilize in dishwasher first....See MorePleast post your thoughts or e-mail me if you do not want to post

Now I suppose I could sell stuff to my friends or create fictitious accounts and write the feedback myself. Of course, you'd be paying eBay a fee for everyone one of those transactions and I have to believe that their security folks might watch for that kind of stuff. I haven't bought or sold much on eBay but what I have has been a positive experience. A few years back I was doing some Internet work for a used car dealer. A customer had mentioned that they had seen the vehicle on eBay. News to us since we didn't use eBay at the time but sure enough someone had "borrowed" the pictures and description of the vehicle from the dealership's website and actually SOLD the vehicle on eBay. I frantically tried to find a customer service phone number for eBay so that they could contact the buyer before he sent any money. Unfortunately, eBay doesn't seem to have a phone number. I sent off an email and then tried to inquire what had happened but eBay would only tell me that the matter was under investigation. The interesting part is that the vehicle was reasonably worth about $16,000 but it had sold on eBay for $9,000. When something seems to good to be true......See MoreWhere do you put your mail?
Comments (19)At the end of my refrig/pantry run I have a small section of countertop above a bank of drawers (about 21X24) where all the mail and other c**p get piled. Two of the drawers hold mailing and school supplies. The other two drawers are supposed to be for DH and me to store mail and other stuff that needs to be saved short term. Unfortunately DH's drawer remains empty while his pile on top grows ever larger. Heaven forbid he should have to open a drawer to get to something when he wants it. I have a three tier letter holder where bills, bank statements and that sort of thing are put until they get paid or whatever. From there they go directly to the file box that I keep in one of my kitchen cabinets. I wanted a filing cabinet in the kitchen, but it was one of the things that had to be scrapped due to lack of space. I wish DH could be a little neater/more organized, but as long as all the clutter stays on the one counter I guess I have to consider it a victory. In our previous kitchen there was so little counter space and his piles were so large, I had a space about 15"X24" to do prep work in. Totally Confused...See MoreDo you read those card packets that come in the mail?
Comments (16)Anyone who has ever done any direct marketing can tell you first hand that closing a sale on a cold call such as telemarketing or door to door is difficult. The key is to first identify those who may have need of your service. First off, i solicited the aid of my local independantly owned corner hardware store. I left a box of the magnets at the store and when people come in and buy plumbing parts they drop one of my magnets in the bag at the checkout, in turn I recommend their business to my customers. Quite often when in the hardware or homesupply centers I see ppl in the plumbing section looking rather perplexed so I offer them a bit of advice or assistance then i give them a magnet and tell them if the project gets too big or if they have future need of a plumber to give me a call. You would be amazed how much those few moments of goodwill will expand your business. Check with your local real estate agents. Many of them put out packets of information to their customers and they will be glad to put your magnet in the pack. Here again, you are targeting your advertising budget directly to prospective customers rather than just blanketing a neighborhood. From my experience, even though I put out much less advertising, my advertising return on investment is much higher....See Moremorz8 - Washington Coast
