Super-AntiSpyware - where do I go to get it?

Super-antispyware - that IS the GOOD one, isn't it? (There is - or there used to be - a virus that was called almost the same thing.) Somehow it (the good one) has disappeared from my computer after I've been using it as my main virus-checker for years.

I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Microsoft Security and ATF-Cleaner that I also run as secondary protection. (And I DO realize that most of these check for different things.)

But I would like my Super-AntiSpyware back ... if only I could find it.

Or is there something that is much, much better?

I use it myself and the link posted above looks good, always get what ever your looking for from the maker as other sites may have what you need but add a few things you Don't need...

Hi, zep, I can get my definitions update...I am thinking that this pop up is notifying me about a software update? I'm sorry, I wasn't clear on that. exgm, I followed your link and I am set up as a home group. I am the only administrator as far as I know. When I first set up the computer, the setup process asked me to type in my name...I thought that was naming myself as the administrator? ...I was doing some looking around to see if I could provide any more information. I opened up Properties for SAS and there is a tab there titled COMPATIBILITY. I opened it and there is a checkbox there that says Run this program as an administrator. Will it solve my problem if I check it?

1)MyWay Search Assistant for Dell Computers. This CLSID or Class id--> 4D25F921-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75 tells us it's Myway search Assistant for Dell Computers. First, no big deal on that scan, The My way search assistant comes preinstalled on some Dells. Super AntiSpyware removed it cause it's classified as adware! "Adware applications, toolbars and browser extensions may serve advertisements even while you are not surfing the Internet." This application may serve various types of advertising, not limited to pop-up ads. This stuff below is all the things that Myway Search Assistant installs, First it installs the process Process DESRCAS.DLL This is the file path and location of the process: C:\PROGRAM FILES\MYWAYSA\SRCHASDE\1.BIN\DESRCAS.DLL And these are the registry entries that are made by Myway Search Assistant. Linda J, That just means that there is an issue with the webpage you are accessing. Unless you are a web developer, anytime you see the words "My SQL" in an error, it means that the webpage has a problem. Nothing wrong with your computer where this message is concerned. Pam

Lavasoft use to be the flagship off the fleet, but through recent years it has lagged in development and dependability. Spybot is the old veteran. It is still a great secondary application, but as Ken points out it is not recommended anymore as a first line of detection. Revo is as Ken reports. CCleaner has a application uninstall tool which I believe is nothing but a pointer to the application's uninstaller. Stick with Revo as it begins with the on-board uninstaller and then takes over for a deeper more complete uninstall. DA

I support downloading from the manufacturer's website. However, in the alternative Filehippo and Major Geeks are long term respected sites.

I like filehippo, the site is set up nicely, never had a problem with it.

Piriform works well for CCleaner as well.

First of all you have wayyyy to many it's called "overkill" one good anti virus and one good anti maleware is enough all you are doing is confusing da chit out of your PC. I have 4 PC's online in my home and have been a puter guru for many years. I have no problems and use AVG2015 Free and Malewarebytes Free now and then I may scan registry with ASC but that is it.

aputernut - Malwarebytes gets rid of malware. The ATF Cleaner just tidies up loose ends, making space.

So there are only two - Microsoft Security and SuperAntiSpyware - doing for the same thing. That is not overkill, that is called "backup".

As long as the applications are reputable and your AV is the only one set to real time there is nothing wrong with having all that you wish. Are they all necessary? Usually not. However, having them does allow you to try them, learn them, and gently tinker with them.

Personally, besides my AV I keep SAS and MWB installed and current since neither are certified 100% effective. But, that's just me.

No it is not back up, often too many of these programs conflict with each other, and you can do disk clean up and defrag from right in your system tools, which free's up space on your hd. and if you want to do all in one free conclusive free software then you can run ASC=advanced systems care.

Maybe search your computer and double click;

superantispyware.exe

IF it starts up and runs, right click and choose send to & choose desktop (create link)

azinoh - I looked on my computer, not on Google.
The short cut was missing when I first went to use it. And I could not find SuperAntiSpyWare when I clicked All Programs.
It might be hidden somewhere else?

1. Might look in Control panel> Programs and Features,

2 Here's a site that provides a search program that you can install that I find a bit more effective (or like better than) the Windows Search.

Have you looked on your C drive under Program Files or Program Files (X86)?

I recently used x64bit CCleaner and it did amazing job. I would suggest, the best anti-everything is just being cautious.
