JoAnn, snow man building needs wet snow... ours is dry and powdery. In fact, so dry, you can sweep it with a broom.

Nice snowman, JoAnn! Yesterday was the first time all year that we've had snow-packing conditions required to make a snowman!!! but I was too tired from all the shoveling. :(

I told Cheryl to use a spray bottle of water and and wet it down then you can make snowballs.

Just for you, JoAnn I made a snow man, when I was back out, removing some more off my driveway. But I had to pack it, like you make a snowball, cause it still doesn't stick.

l'll send the youngest out with the spray bottle this afternoon. They are always complaining we get only powder or ice. Apologies big time for you northerners who need months to dig out! We endure so little of it in comparison.

It's just that I sit here with seed packets, hoping this is the last snow, but knowing I can count on May spring freezes, filing away all the indeterminate tomatoes. Because It will probably be a waste to plant, because I won't get enough to put up before our humid heat ends my main size tomato year in July :( Sigh.

Cheryl, when do your martins arrive, if you're so lucky to get tenants? I want to put up houses, never have. It's what I ask for every Mother's Day and don't get...besides my permanent request for roses with ROOTs. :) Our purple martins are supposed to come through starting next week but the ground is solid here.

I believe we see the Martin scouts then end of March or first part of april

I rather doubt whether Martin Madam Caroline sees them then, in N D.

I live in West TN and my Martins are late. I usually see my first scout 2/28 and then two weeks later, more start arriving. Juvies show up in late April early May and babies are born in July. Miss my birds and can't wait for them to come back!

I'm tired of this crap.

Our forecast for Tuesday through Saturday of next week - nothing (day or night) below freezing. Good-bye snow!
