I just finished grouting 1200 sq.ft. of tile in my house using epoxy grout. I used a grout sleve from Lowe's to put the grout in and applied it directly into the grout joints and then used a rubber float to work it into the cracks. I applied the grout, had another person working the rubber float and another person going right behind cleaning the grout with a solution of water and Dawn dishwashing liquid. We were using 1 gallon buckets of grout which is why there were 3 of us applying the grout. We had no problem applying the grout and cleaning it as we went and never had a problem with it setting up before we could work it into the joints or clean up the tiles and tools. I also grouted my bathroom by myself which was a smaller area, again with no trouble working the grout. I have read that the professional tile setters charge $1.00 - $1.50 more per sq.ft. to work with the epoxy! To me this is a big rip off, yes it is a little more trouble to work with but certainly not worth that kind of extra money. Everytime something new comes out in the construction industry the professional trades want to resist it and charge more money to work with it until they get used to it or finally have to. (Example Hardi Siding Products) Once applied the epoxy grout looks great, the reason that I applied it was I wanted to put it in and be finished with it. No sealing, staining or messing with it and it stays looking new and clean. It was defiently more expensive but to me it is worth the extra money and time to install. At my work we have tile and the grout is so dirty it is black, I did not want that! Once again it is worth the extra money to use the epoxy grout, and don't get ripped off by a tile layer that tells you how hard it is to work with and wants to charge you a lot of extra money to put it in. I have also installed a lot of tile and put in sanded grout and the epoxy is not that much more difficult to work with. For the record I am a Construction Manager and deal with all of the construction trades on a daily basis and not just a do it your selfer.

This guy doing the tile is wonderful. He's very good at what he does and he's meticulous. He's actually the contractor's assistant. To his credit, he's doing the job the actual contractor hasn't done, even though he's been paid nearly double for an incomplete job that has taken 4x longer than expected. The contractor has been avoiding me and knows I'm upset. Several people, including Home Depot and Home Hardware, are urging me to contact police because this contractor has been fraudulent. The assistant is maintaining integrity by keeping his word, even when his boss isn't. (And the assistant is the real reason I haven't called police. He doesn't deserve to be roped into this.) So I don't want to annoy this assistant. I'm heading out to Home Depot this morning to get the grout he wants and two more edgers. I've done grout myself before. I'm no professional, but I may just try to use the Fushion Pro myself to finish off this area and allow him to use the regular grout in the other areas of the bathroom.

I read the professional tile forums where the pros tested it for two years and chose to go with Fusion. My flooring guy had problems with it because it needs to be applied differently than just a giant smearing across the entire room at speed like regular grout. You either need two people or go slower. I helped so there were two of us wiping after the grout. The key is preparation. You need to seal the tile first. Then clean tile, let it dry, wet the tile face before grouting. Do a small section at a time, wipe the tile with a wet sponge then go over it one more time with a microfiber covered sponge in clean water. He did the laundry room in regular grout and the color was not as faithful to the sample stick as the Fusion. I personally grouted half the house over the weekend when they weren't working to save money. Check out the complaints. The ones I saw has mostly to do with cleaning up the grout. We didn't have that problem at all with the sealer and application technique.

@Molly H. The grout started falling out in chunks in our shower within weeks, we had to have our whole shower regrouted. Absolute total nightmare. I still have it in my kid’s bathroom floor upstairs but had to have a tile guy go back over it because it accumulated a bunch of tiny holes in the grout. I would never in a million years recommend this product. Maybe my tile wasn‘t familiar with it and didn’t use the proper technique but I’ll never use it again. 😬
