Is Bostik TruColor grout very good?
Comments (29)I realize this is an old thread but wanted to add my voice here. I am a general contractor and specialize in bathroom and kitchen remodels. I use bostik trucolor on every single project and it works great. It’s not miraculous though. Anyone who wants grout that won’t get dirty is dreaming and needs to use a different floor choice. ALL grout gets dirty the difference is that the urethane won’t soak through the pores. I’ve used a lot of different grout and find this the easiest to apply that’s urethane. Plan on using bostik blaze afterward to get the grout haze you may have missed. It literally melts it away no issues. Way easier than your Home Depot special grout cleaner. As far as change of planes goes you should never put any grout in an area that is a change of plane. That’s what color match caulking is for. They even make a sanded version if you really hate the silicone look. This grout is great if applied correctly. Hope this helps!...See MoreEpoxy grout vs. grout shield
Comments (18)First, no mixing, so no color variations. Epoxy needs mixing also...and is messy. Any leftover can be re-sealed and used for another project later on. No sealer needed. Good color. I've seen white used on a test board... two hours later, splashed mustard, wine and coffee over it and wiped up clean with a damp sponge. A little learning curve for application~ Do small areas at a time. Fill joints well. Slightly dampen tiles before application. Using a WELL wrung out sponge, clean the area in a circular motion within a minute or so of application. I like to use either a microfibre-backed sponge or a sponge with a well wrung out microfibre cloth wrapped around it to make single passes over the area within a couple of minutes. Go on to the next area. An hour or two later, just buff off any haze with a dry or almost dry microfibre towel. Two people working together make it go very easy....although one can do it. Remove any rings and wear some disposable gloves....Fusion Pro loves skin, as well! Once done, you should never need to do anything else to it other than general cleaning....See MoreMold resistant grout for subway tile surround
Comments (19)Check with the tile experts to be sure, but I believe that I have read that you do not want to be the first customer that your tiler has ever used epoxy grout with. Let him experiment elsewhere and know what he is doing before doing yours. That said, Marty 180, everything I have read in my research on redoing my bathroom leads me to believe that if you are going to have tile in a shower, epoxy grout is the only way to go! Personally, I am not going to have tile. I am not a good enough cleaner to deal with it. My lungs can't use most cleansers and my hands and wrists can't scrub. I give in. Solid surface, here I come!...See MoreFusion Pro Single component grout clean up in tub
Comments (3)"The contractor I used had never used the product before. Needless to say there was a decent amount of excess grout that fell into the tub and was not cleaned up." A grout mess has nothing to do with the product. You should not do anything accept pick up the phone and have the so called contractor clean it. Due to the lack of caring about your tub brings into question the quality of tile work and what's beneath. Waterproofing, mortar coverage, proper sealant etc....See Morescerrir
