Help me finish the powder room - I need tile help.
Comments (3)I love the godmorgan sink for their clever plumbing moving the ptrap to the back so that you can have drawers. I got one but my plumber threw up all over it for the cheap quality of the plastic in the plumbing. He did agree about the design and is building ours with the ptrap in the back so that we can do drawers using better quality stock parts. Mirrors.. I would suggest picking this first as this will drive much tile you need. Have you looked at IKEA mirrors. They are a good price point. Also home goods etc.. Faucet.. Online prices are much better.. Do you like the look of the faucet in the picture? I went with a simple version from a good quality brand for my regular bathrooms with a single lever. For powder room, I also wanted it to be fun and did wall mounted in antique copper....See MoreHow to decorate a tiny room with high ceilings?
Comments (19)tibbrix- Thanks for that link. Your picture of the dark chocolate bathroom with the white wainscoting is what I had for a mental image. My wainscoting would work well at about 54" to work with the various elements, or lower, around 46". The room is so small that I can experiment without a tremendous expenditure of time or money. I want to do the crown in there first so I can see if I like the look of my home-brewed crown. For me, some kind of wainscoting is a given, and again, I can work out the details before moving on to the much larger LR. I can start with white wainscoting and crown, dark walls, and a white ceiling. From there, I can try the dark color on the ceiling as well to see if we like it better. It doesn't take long to paint/re-paint a 28 square foot ceiling!...See MoreHelp me find a new dining/family room paint color
Comments (7)Love the house! I couldn't quite tell what colors are in adjoining rooms, but on my monitor, your first 2 mentions above looked 'fleshy'. I consulted a designer years ago who suggested a color for my bedroom, which turned out 'fleshy' and I had to stop after one wall as it just looked awful. Check out this link for colors that Better Homes and Gardens had an article on - Paint Colors for Rooms Trimmed With Wood This one looked very nice to me, and I think your sofa and the one pictured are similar in color. Here is an article on Houzz - [11 Terrific Paint Color Matches for Wood Details[(https://www.houzz.com/magazine/11-terrific-paint-color-matches-for-wood-details-stsetivw-vs~9025200)...See MoreBenjamin Moore 2017 Paint Color of the Year
Comments (54)My wife and I liked Shadow a lot in that stairway pic, but after painting the sample on the wall it seemed too light (they used pretty moody lighting in the image). Our room is naturally really bright (day or night) so we went one shade darker on the sample. It's a color called "Galaxy" and love it (but its dark, sometimes it looks black). Sorry if I overload with these pics, have posted before under different topics :) -- Also, it doesn't have the full effect yet, we aren't done (new rug, curtains, bedding, artwork, etc)...See Moreemmarene9
