Benjamin Moore Vintage Charm

I once painted a powder room that had white wainscoting Benj. Moore Cameo White. It is a pink white. It was flattering and I liked it in a small space. I see some pink/burgandy in the adjacent spaces so it might flow nicely too.

I am not sure I understand the question. Are you seeking a new shade of white for the trim or are you wanting to change wall color also?

How about picking up that lovely aubergine from the hallway wallpaper. I love that color...being as I'm still in my purple phase....

Emmarene, I want to adjust the white on the wainscoting to better match the sink, and I want to change the wall color. I think I am leaning toward what Annie is suggesting, a deeper color. The green is pretty but it really doesn't flow with the other first floor colors and it needs a refresh. I am thinking of an aubergine like annie and tib are suggesting. Annie, do you have a specific color in mind? Or going in another direction, has anyone used French Press or the new Pantone color?

A very deep chocolate brown is also a great idea, esp. with the wainscoting. Very sophisticated and elegant

Depends on how deep you want to go. I used BM tropical dusk in my laundry room and it's a wonderful shade of heather. I used a martha stewart color, purple mulberry, in my library and it's a very deep muted purple. I couldn't get the color I wanted from BM, so I went with her colors, but I don't see them available any more.

So much depends on the room though. Here is one shot of tropical dusk on the ceiling...

In my laundry room, it looks to be something in between. But it is a great color with both the off white trim and the white appliances.

Ok, I made what is for me a very quick decision. Went to my favorite paint store with the best paint-picker ever. She immediately went for BM Aura Caponata. I'm in! White Dove trim. My painter almost fell over with my quick choice. Most uncharacteristic.

Ugh, that is going to be SOOOOOOOO gorgeous. Please put finished pics up. The Caponata reminds me of BM Wenge, which is one of my fave colors.

Well, I'm thrilled! Love the color. I have a small collection of dark red pottery from the wonderful Scargo Pottery on Cape Cod, so I've brought out a few of those pieces. I have a botanical print in there that is pretty nice with the color. Not sure how to style the rest of the room - my very plain mirror doesn't pop at all any more. I have brushed nickel fixtures but the botanical has a gold frame....so not sure how to go from here. Anyway, Caponata is a gorgeous color and I'm much happier with the White Dove trim and how it looks next to the Kohler white fixtures.

Absolutely gorgeous! Elegant, sophisticated..perfect for a powder room. But..I would put a heftier mirror in there to go with the heft of the sink, Caponata, and the woodwork and sconces. I think the mirror you have ther now is too lightweight looking for that powder room.

Something like the PB one -- looks like it has some gold and silver in that frame. If not, it will work with both. I would look for something like that or to the gold tones. Don't worry that your faucet is nickel. It is functional and a fixture -- your mirror and picture are wall art. Makes sense for them to be different, but makes more sense to make the two wall pieces consistent that to have one wall piece match the faucet and the one opposite be starkly different.

Personally, I like your current mirror. I especially like the round shape there. Great, great wall color. You need to tell this "best paint-picker ever" to pack her bags...I have a feeling we are getting in line for her to help us next!

For New Jersey folks, she's at Young's Paint in Fanwood (or maybe it's Plainfield). She's AWESOME. She has never steered me wrong. Also great with wallpaper.

How nice to have someone with a good color eye to help you. I was looking at my color chips last night and discovered that I picked up Caponata. I have perhaps a 5x7 ft accent behind a painting above my mantel and may be changing the color to go with a new wall paint in the room. It was nice to have just seen more of it on the wall.

I really like your current mirror and the shape, but it looks like it may tend to fade into the wall. It's a choice to have it blend into the wall or set it off more. If you set it off, it will tend to balance the picture visually. If you leave it as is, the picture will attract your eye more. We can only see one wall at a time in photos. Do you feel it is out of balance when you enter the room?

Well, one issue is that there is nothing on the long wall, the one you look at when you enter (via pocket door). I don't know if I need anything there. I think I'll live with the mirror for a while. Do you think I need something on the long wall? Also need to buy some new towels etc. so that will help.

This coming from the original white/beige wall person: Your new wall color is awesome. If I had a powder room and surroundings that would coordinate, I'd have that color, too. It is a delicious color.
