What's for supper.....Wednesday?

Didn't see a supper post, so I'll get one started.

Nothing special at all, just breakfast. Good, crispy bacon, eggs over easy, English muffins, fresh pineapple, orange wedges, kiwi halves.

Trinity - if it's what I'm thinking of, they are called Scones up here and Indian Fry Bread in other parts of the country. Only job I was ever fired from, after several years, was from a restaurant for giving out their "secret" recipe! (And it was hanging right on the side of the refrigerator where anyone could see it! *shrugs shoulders*) LOL Ingredients 1 1/2 cups of warm water 1 1/2 Tbsp. Sugar 1 Tbsp. Yeast 1/2 tsp Salt 1 Tbsp. Shortening 3 1/2 Cups Flour Preparation Throw everything above into your bread machine, and set to the dough cycle (around 1 hour 30 minutes) You can make the dough by hand too (Mix, Knead for 15 minutes, and let rise for an hour). . Break off pieces of dough, flatten by hand, or rolling pin. . Deep fry in oil until golden brown (around 350 degrees). . Serve with butter and honey. Makes about 10 or so

LindaC, I will be using a recipe I found on Cooks.com. I posted it on my Dutch oven thread, but I'm always happy to share it again :). Oven Barbequed Spareribs 4 lbs. country style spareribs 2 med. onions, sliced 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 3/4 c. ketchup 1/2 c. chili sauce 3/4 c. water 2 Tbsp. vinegar 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional) Place ribs in baking dish. Add onion and salt. Cover with sauce made by combining remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours. Be sure pan has a cover or use aluminum foil to keep ribs from drying out. Recipe may be halved. Cynic, no definite Thanksgiving plans as of yet and the kind of ribs we are using are the country style pork ribs. Which, as I learned a short time ago, are cut from the pork loin or shoulder. rhizo, do you mean that you sub'd sliced zucchini for the lasagna noodles, or that you added zucchini to the meat & cheese filling? either way sounds good. Quick dinner here too -- hot day, so I made tuna & pasta salad, sweet corn, and sliced tomatoes and zucchini.

Raven, I hope you are feeling better today! Have you tried eating a little yoghurt? My pharmacist always suggests that to help with stomach problems caused by antibiotics. It does seem to help a bit. Everyone's meals sound so good! My 'diet' is pretty limited due to Gout, Osteoarthritis, high blood pressure, and one kidney. So reading here about pot roast, ham, meat loaf, meat balls, tuna, etc., has me drooling all over my keyboard! :^) I 'cheated' on my main meal yesterday. Had a lot of errands to do yesterday, and I was really beat! So I picked up some hot wings on my last stop of the day at Walmart. I love hot wings! That, along with a bottle of Bolthouse Farms 'Green Goodness' was my supper last night. Rusty

I made rotini and spinach with a blue cheese cream. Hubby is prepping for a colonoscopy; he won't touch a cream sauce.

Ooh, that cream sauce sounds good. I'm going to have to make a note of that. It would be good with several things that I can think of.

Coq au Vin made with a French Burgundy, mashed potatoes, and a salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

GM, I felt so chilled today that I made a pot of spicy lentil soup for lunch today and tomorrow. That did the trick! Pea soup is a real favorite of mine, too.

Bob, I've got a chicken in the fridge that will be swimming in Burgundy and brandy tomorrow, lol.

DH found a new recipe he wanted to try and it was yummy! Sort of an Asian stir fry with chicken, lots of veggies and a sauce of peanut butter, curry paste, chicken broth and other wonderful flavors. We had it over rice, and a couple of cookies for dessert.

Made ravencajun's Quick Shrimp Chowder again, substituting the last of the cod from the freezer for the shrimp.
