What's For Supper on Wednesday?

We are just going to have the Arby's special, a chicken sandwich, a salad and some fruit for dessert. If you bought something at Arby's today, we bought a drink, you got the sandwich free. What are you having this evening?

Trinity - if it's what I'm thinking of, they are called Scones up here and Indian Fry Bread in other parts of the country. Only job I was ever fired from, after several years, was from a restaurant for giving out their "secret" recipe! (And it was hanging right on the side of the refrigerator where anyone could see it! *shrugs shoulders*) LOL Ingredients 1 1/2 cups of warm water 1 1/2 Tbsp. Sugar 1 Tbsp. Yeast 1/2 tsp Salt 1 Tbsp. Shortening 3 1/2 Cups Flour Preparation Throw everything above into your bread machine, and set to the dough cycle (around 1 hour 30 minutes) You can make the dough by hand too (Mix, Knead for 15 minutes, and let rise for an hour). . Break off pieces of dough, flatten by hand, or rolling pin. . Deep fry in oil until golden brown (around 350 degrees). . Serve with butter and honey. Makes about 10 or so

DH found a new recipe he wanted to try and it was yummy! Sort of an Asian stir fry with chicken, lots of veggies and a sauce of peanut butter, curry paste, chicken broth and other wonderful flavors. We had it over rice, and a couple of cookies for dessert.

Leftover Taco-Rice skillet for me. It is a mixture of rice, tomatoes, onion, and ground beef, served on a bed of lettuce with shredded cheese and sour cream on top. I consider it pretty much a full balanced meal. Tomorrow I will "eat fancy." Our dining room is serving "surf and turf" with the surf being shrimp and the turf a filet.

My restless newly retired husband purchased a countertop rotisserie electric oven at Christmas last year. I was really freaked out, but it's his baby so he's in charge. I do nothing. But he's not experienced in buying groceries. Long story short. Giant chicken 5+ lbs.. On the tray at the bottom of the oven he cooked sliced onions and small halved red potatoes. They were packaged conviently in a mesh bag so easy for him to buy. I've never had such hard potatoes in my life. About golf ball size. They didn't even soften up in the microwave. No idea of the variety but no flavor at at all. Even with seasoned chicken fat dripping on them. But tonight was our second meal and Thursday will be our third lol. Maybe I'll make home fries with those little stone spuds tomorrow. Or maybe I should throw them in a pot of boiling water for awhile? seagrass

well, I'm cleaning out the freezer section of the fridge, and I might find something interesting. Otherwise, it's corn on the cob and cukes in sour cream.

Left overs from DH's B'day dinner lastnight. Salmon filets, twice baked potatoes, brocolli in cheese sauce, and we'll share a lobster tail.....all heated in the micro wave oven as it is HOT here today. Dottie

Leftovers here too. Porcupine meat balls over mashed potatoes with tomato gravy. Pickled beets and applesauce.

Finished up the leftovers.

Summer Squash Casserole, Broccoli Cornbread, sliced local tomatoes and ice tea.

Leftover crockpot meal from yesterday. Haven't been feeling great lately so yesterday I threw a couple Cornish hens in the crockpot, some green beans from the garden, red new potatoes and onions. We have leftovers so if the kids want to eat, that's what they get or will have to fix something else.

We had grilled peanut butter and peach sandwiches. They were demonstrating them at the grocery store a couple of days ago and handing out recipes. Really tasty and something different for a change.

I went to Pei Wei...take out Asian food...and got 6 crab wontons. They are great. Real crab...not that krab...the fake stuff.
