HVAC Leak
Comments (3)To answer your question, the caps being loose would not cause the substantial loss of refrigerant you describe. Their main purpose is to protect the valve, keeping dirt and other contaminants out. The technician may be "guessing" there is "probably" a leak and he should look for it. In fact, a leak that substantial, he is obligated to look for it. I'm not a fan of adding any monkey snot leak sealer into a unit. It causes more problems than you want and doesn't really seal anything. I personally don't introduce anything into the refrigerant circuit except refrigerant. I agree with you, the technician should take a leak detector and look for the leak, it is a relatively easy process and a leak that size should only take a few minutes. However, I'm assuming he just made a guess in response to your call and will check it out before introducing anything into the system. If you think you can convince him to use a leak detector instead of red die, try to do so. If it is a large leak in the evaporator coil, that stuff is going to blow all around inside the plenum where the coil sits. The size leak, if indeed it is a leak that is your second problem, would leave traces of oil. If you didn't see any evidence on any of the lines or where they connect, then it could be in the evaporator coil or, somewhere in the condensing unit. It is a very fine oil so look closely....See MoreHusband tslking to women on the internet
Comments (5)I think the term "friend" needs to be explored and discussed a little more indepthly. IMO, if she were a true friend, she wouldn't be behaving as she is with him. The problem though is with your husband, not her. He owes you the respect, she really doesn't. He needs to see the situation as it is, and remove himself from it. You can not control the other women that may come and go from his group -- He needs to learn when and how to draw the line. Some men get it, some don't -- I personally think many get it and know what is going on, but simply don't care, and will turn the tables all they can to it being about you and your insecurities and jealously when in reality, it is really all about their disrepectfulness (and sometimes even unfaithfulness) to you. I think it's time to drop the nerd friends and slu^s. He either doesn't get it and never will, or he gets it and is just being an a-h. Either way, life's too short to have friends that cause trouble in a marriage....See MoreGrowth on Dog's Padding
Comments (4)It doesn't matter laser vs scalpel or cautery, it all depends on the surgeon's ability to get the entire growth out. Depending on what the growth is, that can be easy or not so much. Some types of growths send out microscopic finger-like projections that you just can't see grossly, and then they recur. However getting a biopsy will tell you what the growth is and whether or not the surgical margins are clear. On a paw pad, I would tend towards cautery because of better hemostasis than scalpel or laser. But that's surgeon's preference and availability of equipment. I think the advice of searching for a vet who has had experience removing this type of growth is very good. I've removed one paw pad growth a couple of months ago and the margins were clear so we don't expect it to recur. It was a corn (has a fancy histopathological name I can't remember). I probably just got lucky:) Used cautery, since that's what we have available. Obviously trimming it down isn't providing a long-term solution, and since it is causing your dog discomfort I would tend towards surgery for removal. I would highly recommend biopsy to determine exactly what it is and to evaluate surgical margins. I have been surprised several times, both pleasantly and not, about growths and now very rarely will remove one without histopathology. Especially since your vet has never seen this before....See MoreLong post...advice about ex husbands' visit
Comments (16)Thanks everyone for your insight and input. Your comments fit right in with what friends tell me but I kind of wanted to get an unbiased opinion from people who don't know me. I have to agree that the whole thing is creepy and fishy. I cannot imagine not seeing or contacting my children for such a long time in the first place, but of course he says that is all my fault. I can't imagine not wanting to spend every second with them if I hadn't seen them in such a long time. He is such a creep. I have heard over and over again that I had no right to "take his children" away from him and that because of ME he has no relationship with them. Ummm...not buying that one buddy. When I was growing up I had one Grandma in the UK, one across the country and both of them managed to create and maintain a relationship with me back in the days when there was no email, no free/cheap long distance, and certainly little face-to-face contact. I seldom saw them but when I did we were comfortable with each other because we had a long-standing relationship. Why were my Grandmothers able to do that and my ex is not able to do so with his own children?? Because it was a priority to my Grandmas to nurture a bond and it obviously isn't a priority for him. He takes the easy way out by blaming it on someone else. Unfortunately what this entire situation has taught me is that the legal system is really, really messed up. Even though he has abused and stalked me, I CANNOT keep him away from his children because he has never "harmed" his children. I was warned of that in court by the judge who oversaw our case...my God, how could his behavior have NOT harmed our children? So the option of not allowing unsupervised visits is really not an option. As many of you already know, the court will not back me up until AFTER something happens. That really sucks. Anyway, I've decided that I will email him and tell him that his plans are not acceptable. I will drop the boys off and pick them up...haven't decided if it will be at the hotel or at the police station. I'm going to stop by the station this week and find out what the police would be willing to do...actually I had already planned on explaining the situation to them in advance of his arrival but I need to check if I can do the drop off/pick up there. My boyfriend has already insisted that he be with me no matter where the exchange occurs, even if it is the police station....See Moremaddielee
