How do I search the forum?

So GardenWeb wouldn't load, due to an update...now it's a totally new format. This is going to take some getting used to. In the meantime, can someone please tell me where the search feature can be found?

So lost...

Also, many of your handles have _gw at the end. WTH?

Hi there,

The full list of forums can be found by clicking the links on the left side of the main GardenWeb page here.

Look at the very top of the page for the search box where you can enter the terms you would like to search for. Hope that helps!

I just replied to your other thread LOL! I'm trying to find all the old threads I was interested in following...this new format is going to take some getting used to :-O

I bookmark the ones I might want to find, in advance or if I started them-then I can go back to my profile or if I remember the name of the OP who started them-go to their profile otherwise..it's like been swallowed into abyss.. I started thinking that some new OPs ask question then never come back after twenty people answered them in the nicest way possible, simply because they can't find their own thread anymore.

If youre on pc, there should a window to the left called " your topics" , click edit, and select(check mark), if there is such a thing of course. If youre on phone, there should be a similar menu. Just check, there isnt. Though, you seem to already be there(check the tags), so i dont really see why there is an issue>

How do you do a search within just one forum?

I was very well aware of how to do it and have been doing it since forever, but today it did not work for me. It always worked for me on GW, but since I can no longer access GW and am forced to use Houzz, it does not work for me. I'm using Firefox and Windows 10 on a desktop computer. Thanks, Carol, for suggesting Chrome. It does work for me on Chrome, and so I guess I'll have to start using that browser for GW, since I cannot access it on Firefox.

I think I might have discovered the issue. You have to be on the GardenWeb platform to be able to search in a specific forum. The search bar will read "Search in GardenWeb" and allow various options to filter your search, including the forum you are searching in. If you are on the Houzz side of the platform, the search bar will then read "search discussions, photos, products and more" and will not allow you to direct the request to a specific forum, only under general discussions. So it is GardenWeb access versus Houzz access :-)

No need for cussing... it just means it is a garden web registration!

Hi Melle -

The member names that end with _gw are because the GW member name was already in use on Houzz. It could be the same member who might have an account already on Houzz or the name was already taken. The good news is that even if you can't claim your original name, you can still have it display on your posts by going into your profile settings (top right corner of the page - click on 'Your Houzz') and scroll down to 'Display Information'.

Search can be found at the top of the page.

Hi Maddie --

If you look towards the top of the page, just above the title of the post, you'll see a breadcrumb trail in green. If you click 'Home Decorating' it will bring up the list of posts in the forum.
