Settling crack been repaired by 6 people - any advice?

Our house is 25 years old. The foundation was put in and sat for a year waiting for the housing crisis then to recover. Then the house was built. The foundation has a diagonal crack that was repaired before we purchased and 2 house inspectors say it is fine.

The settling crack appeared about year 5 of home ownership. It is above a door jamb at the lower end of a room with cathedral ceiling. It has been dug out, caulked with string, caulked with caulk, tapped, other type of tape, and 7 months ago the blue board was replaced and the wall painted for $950. Now the crack has 4 sides. We have spent over $2,000 with painters and carpenters and quality builder to fix this to no avail. Each fix lasts about 4 months.

Is there a 6th solution we need to try?

We are selling our house and need a permanent solution, or at least a 5 year solution for this problem.

Thank you for your time and expertise.
