You are writing her too often. I would wait for a response from her before writing the next letter.

I can see that if she has to be careful with her money and phone calls that she might not feel the need to call you since she hears from you so often. Don't feel hurt.

By now she should be in the swing of things at school and be busy enough so that she is not homesick.

i was wondering if i wrote too much but in all the letters from her she complained our other friend doesn't write very much. i won't feel hurt tho.

i am 30 and bff's are both 26. actually i have slight disabilities which put me into the some same classes when we were still in school but our friendship remains. i live in my own apartment with my dog. 1 friend lives with her bf and our other friend when she comes home will stay with her mom because she doesn't have her apartment anymore.
we promised when she left that we would write every week because she had just broke up with her bf and her dad had died over the summer. she was in a dead end job so decided to go to school.
but we promised we would write her every week and so i have.
yes i have other friends but after work i just go home. i do have a dog that needs me at home when i'm not working.
i have missed my friend a great deal she has always been my biggest supporter so i don't want to annoy her with alot of letters or make her feel bad that she has not called me when she was calling our other bff.

I think that in a group of friends, it usually ends up that someone's closer to one person than another. We can't control that, we can only control how we approach the friendship. You sound like a very loyal friend! It also sounds like you are all there for each other when it counts.

In my written correspondence with friends...back in the day...it was sorta like ping-pong. Back and forth. I'd write, they would reply, etc. Except for a person in the armed forces or some other reason, I never wrote several times while waiting for a reply.

No, don't get mad or even hurt. Cherish your friendships.

Keep writing to her, and have fun when she comes. There is only one way to find out, why she calls the other girl, and not you. If you think it is worth it to ask, you might loose your friend.

No one can tell you how to feel, your feelings are your own.
Their feelings are their own too.
You can't make someone closer to you just by wanting it so.
I agree with others who have said to not bring it up, to keep your friendships.
Perhaps spend some time on local friendships, perhaps someone else with a dog who can come over after work.

I can understand how you would feel sort of left out, that would be a natural feeling but, for all you know, your friend may treasure you letters more than an easy phone call. I know I would. Letters make a person feel special. To sit down and write a letter is a rarity these days and most would appreciate one more than a phone call. So tap yourself on the shoulder as you are a good friend and you did what you promised to do. That shows great character. Don't bother mentioning it, it's not worth it and not in your character. Balancing a 3 friend relationship almost always brings up temporary "hurt feelings". You got all good advice here so smile, feel loved and enjoy your friends. Merry Christmas
