I Changed My Mind...

User

I watched the tutorial on Missouri Quilts for the Disappearing Hourglass II, thought that might be what I'd like to do next. So I made the one block - kind of a pain to do. But anyway, I went ahead and made all the hourglass blocks which would get cut down and rearranged for the final blocks. When I got through I said to myself "do you really want to go through with this?" and my other self said "NO!" So now I'm using the hourglass blocks - which by the way are classically called "broken dishes" and I'm simplifying it by not going the extra step. I've used the last of my stash of unbleached muslin for the background on all and then kind of muted fabrics from my stash for the colors, sort of Shabby-chic looking effect. Lots of over-all florals with either cream or white backgrounds. I might do a paper-pieced string border for it with all the leftovers, including the muslin. Do any of you have a plan and then change it to something else after you got started?
