Chrome faucet with polished nickel sconce?
Comments (10)Conn123, thanks for the link. This is actually the one I am considering: I will have a cut glass/crystal chandelier in the room too. i was excited to see that this one is on sale too on Macys. They do accept returns at the store--which is GREAT! I do wonder, though, if that is worth the $25 in shipping! I can get free shipping elsewhere. And, there is $47 of taxes on Macy's. I don't know that other internet sites charge tax (I think you are supposed to pay it yourself on your income tax forms, though, right?). Anyway, how do people feel about this sconce?...See MoreWill it look ok to do a chrome faucet with polished nickel pulls
Comments (13)Marcolo - I love the faucet in every way but these two ways: a) there's a slight jiggle which I'm told is normal (back to front jiggle, if that makes sense). It's minimal and doesn't affect how it functions but after two other faucets first, I realized I had to stop being so picky. There are also ways to make it tighter but it would involve some monkeying (e.g. replace some inside part with another part). b) the levers are 99% straight but I want them 100% straight. A plumber happened to be over today and darn it if I didn't forget to ask him to try straightening them out. But in the past - with a past faucet of the same type from them - they were a bit off in another direction. And yet the guy whose kitchen inspired me and who I managed to contact had neither of these issues. I'm hoping that too can be monkeyed with but it might have those grooves (?) which after moving to the next one might make it too far the other direction - who knows. I can make them straight (pointing straight down in the off position) but the left side isn't 100% turned all the way as far as it will go (still no dripping though which is good). What I love about it is that it's powerful; if you pop the spout up it sprays and if you have it down, it does the usual thing. I love that it's not so powerful that it sprays you all over and yet still sprays you enough (due to being so tall - as all good-quality faucets do when they're tall) that I usually keep in in the shower position in which case it doesn't spray you at all. I love how unique it is and how no one ever notices how camouflaged it is - how you just pull the camouflaged hose off the top of the neck and spray all over your sink for better cleaning (or into a coffee pot). I love that it's the ONLY wall-mounted, traditional looking, gooseneck faucet that offers a built-in sprayer with no holes being cut into one's countertop. I love the choice of levers/handles/wheels (stainless, white with think silver stripe or black with thin silver stripe) - they look very elegant. And lastly, I love the solid stainless steel, polished. Looks very warm - almost like nickel - and is stunning to look at. So if we were talking stars, I'd give it a 4.5 or so out of 5. Customer service is good, too. How's that? Did I leave anything out? :)...See MorePolished chrome and polished nickel fixtures in same kitchen?
Comments (11)My very expensive polished nickel Brizo Virage bath faucet is absolutely beautiful and doesn't match any of the other polished nickel fixtures I bought! I'm going crazy. Why oh why didn't I hold them up together in the bathroom before I had them installed? I replaced two-tone accessories and now I have gold again! The faucet looks gold and everything else looks like chrome. I can't find a soap dispenser or fingertip towel holder to match! Every manufacturer's polished nickel is a different color...My Amerock Markham towel bars and tissue holder are beautiful, but look more like chrome. Now what? If you want everything to match and not show every fingerprint and waterspot, stick with chrome....See MoreWould Polished Chrome or Brushed Nickel look better? (Pics)
Comments (21)"lynn2006: Ohh, good point - we'll have to consider what looks best with ss appliances! We're planning on doing our own trim for the Ikea cabinets, so I've done a bunch of googling on paint matches. I read that Simply White (which happens to be our trim color for our casings; I love it) is a match for Lindingo. While Ben Moore's Cloud White and Ralph Lauren's (potentially discontinued) Studio White WW09 are good matches for Adel White. The Adel White Ikea cover panels that we bought Do Not seem to match the doors!!! They are a brighter white and much glossier!! I don't know if we are the only ones with that problem, but we are returning them and plan to make our own (hopefully better matching, and cheaper!) cover panels instead. (This may have been more info than you wanted - sorry about that!)" Thank you for letting me know since I have not looked at Ikea yet and I had planned to go with the shaker door and drawer without any slab drawers and fell in love with the inset but Home depot is having a sale and I got a good price on fancier doors that I first thought were not my taste but they are growing on me when I saw the price and how much better storage I would have and they are close to the BM Cloud White color which is what I wanted. I may have to take a trip to Ikea and back to the local store with the inset cabinets and then price it all out. Home Depot is offering free trash can and recycling bin and organizers, free hardware (but I am having a touching time falling in love with the free hardware), free double silver ware drawer, free paint finish upgrade, free pull out shelves (but I really wanted drawers) and I am waiting for a price on the granite counters and the removal of the soffit, removal of the old cabinets and the tile installation. I love the Ikea organizers and my others choice is covering the soffit with trim since the bigger cabinets are pretty but I am not even 5 feet and have enough problems reaching selves right now and need a stool and ladder for the higher shelves. I am not sure which to vote for yet since I have not begun this process yet but I chose the chrome for my bathroom since I liked the bling....See MoreMags438
