Chrome faucet with polished nickel sconce?
Comments (10)Conn123, thanks for the link. This is actually the one I am considering: I will have a cut glass/crystal chandelier in the room too. i was excited to see that this one is on sale too on Macys. They do accept returns at the store--which is GREAT! I do wonder, though, if that is worth the $25 in shipping! I can get free shipping elsewhere. And, there is $47 of taxes on Macy's. I don't know that other internet sites charge tax (I think you are supposed to pay it yourself on your income tax forms, though, right?). Anyway, how do people feel about this sconce?...See Morepolished stainless/polished nickel w/ polished chrome?
Comments (6)Thanks for the responses. We had always planned for this bathroom to be just a guest room bath until sometime in the far future we would need an accessible bathroom. So, in the interest of saving money at the time we didn't add the grab bars. Unfortunately, I had a too enthusiastic Memorial Day weekend which resulted in a broken foot bone. Now that I need to use this bathroom we're going to add the grab bars as soon as possible. My recommendation for anyone else doing an accessible bathroom is to do it all at the same time. You never know when you're going to need it or whether you'll be able to match the fittings when you do. Thanks again for the help....See MoreNeed Quick Help! Polished Nickel Light w/ Chrome Faucet?
Comments (11)I think it's a matter of personal preference and it's not wrong to mix them if the diffence in their "warmth" doesn't bother you. And I think that sconce would look amazing in polished nickel! I have a similar situation in my guest bath. We already had chrome faucets and I really wanted the lights in polished nickel. I have to admit, I would prefer my polished finishes to match because I worry that they are similar enough that it looks like I just couldn't quite get it right. I recognize that is my issue and that most people probably wouldn't pay as much attention. Here's a photo of one side of the double vanity. It's a pretty bright day out today so it's hard to get a photo to show the difference as it is IRL. We're finishing our 10 1/2 month masterbath reno this weekend and, after taking a month off to regroup, we're going to take on this bathroom next. It will be a much lower budget project and some of the same elements will stay... including probably my mismatched finishes!...See Morepolished nickel pulls, which of these two faucets...
Comments (15)the faucets are perrin and rowe. no special "easy care" finish. just polished nickel. i use the towelettes once a month, otherwise just wipe them down. it's really no big deal unless you want it to be. faucets have been in use for over a year. we have well water -don't know if that makes a difference. i imagine the quality of the finish must vary depending on manufacturer, as i have a friend with a polished nickel faucet in her master bath that she is not happy with. i don't know what brand she used, but i have rohl (pn) faucets all over the house and they've been wonderful. in general i prefer "living" finishes. the coated finishes don't appeal to me at all as they look like they are encased in plastic. the finish on our oil robbed bronze doorknobs are changing depending on use. there's nothing i can do about it, and i would't want to....See Moremarcolo
